Smooth comfortable ride. difficult to install !
No hardware is supplied; that said, the original rear hardware was used, and fit the rear shocks fine. The Bilstein front upper shock mounts have a steel bushing, with a 1/2" mounting hole, that are quite long! The original shock bolts are slightly over 3/4"diameter, and I had to machine them down to 1/2" diameter. The upper shock bushing had to be shortened as well. These GMC shock bolts have a tapered fit mounting that secures into a corresponding tapered hole in the GMC frame. The original lower front shock hardware fit properly. This Bilstein's set, replaced a set of KYB's; comparing the ride, my 91'GMC Suburban now rides more level, and quite a bit smoother over rough surfaces. I can hear slightly more road noise when hitting bumps or pot holes, but the car remains level, without pitching. I mostly drive on paved surfaces, and overall the ride quality is much better than the KYB's, which made my Suburban feel more like a truck on a badly rutted old dirt road. For all the trouble the front upper shock mounting caused me, I now have a much better riding Suburban.

Works great!
Using in a stock height 1987 K5 Blazer. It's correct for me, but I made sure to check bilstein's website for what part numbers I needed, and luckily they were on here for a better price. It's a definite difference in ride quality on hitting bumps and I've only put the rears on. I love it. I think I was dealing with original shocks before. After removing the old, I found they didn't bounce back out very fast. These new ones are much better. My front quad shocks don't want to come off, I'm going to have to cut them off before I can try out the bilstein front shocks. For K5's, trucks, or Jeeps lifted I believe should have different Bilstein shocks. Kind of a shame, because I want to lift the Blazer now.
