My 6-year-old son loves dinosaurs and this vest is very similar to what the characters on a favorite show wear. I love that it fits him well and is very well made. I feel confident that this vest will handle all of the backyard Dino hunting shenanigans.

Well made - great vest!!

Vest is great. We're using for a halloween costume. Be aware though, the color is not grey as it appears in the photos. It's definitely a khaki color. We made it work but really wanted the grey color.

The fabric, stitching, attachment points, and zippers especially, are all very sturdy. Pockets are generous, well-designed, and well-placed. They can easily hold larger items like binoculars, magnifying glass, and a small field guide. There is even an interior velcro chest pocket and a zippered pocket on the interior lower back of the vest which are not mentioned in the description. The mesh on the back offers lots of ventilation, which is important because my nature-loving kiddo likes to carry a backpack and also overheats quickly in the summer sun. My son is 4 years old, but tall and thin for his age, (46", 40lbs), and the small fits him just fine with room for a fleece and thermals underneath, plus the cinch straps on the sides allow for a closer fit when wearing over a t shirt. My son loves Dino Dana and exploring in nature, so this was the perfect gift for him. He's already worn it on several outdoor hikes in the national forest. This is not a cheap dress up costume piece like others I've seen advertized, it is a legitimate piece of outdoor gear that I'm sure will stand up to many, many adventures.

My husband wanted a hiking vest for my son (8years old) and their adventures together. My son is skinny and tends to be on the smaller side in clothes. The best fits well-- it doesn't drown him, but it will be wearable for years to come. We bought a size small.

Our son loves being outside and exploring. He is also a big fan of Dino Dana. This vest is perfect for holding all his treasures and going on adventures. We just gave it to him for Easter but it seems very well made and is holding up to daily wear with pockets full of rocks. We plan on adding pins as we visit state parks.
