Stranger Things 2 (A Netflix Original Series Soundtrack)

Stranger Things is a mega nostalgia trip for me. I'm in my early 50s, so would be mid-teens when the events of Stranger Things would have happened. I'm not American or anything, so my nostalgia springs from a more mundane midlands childhood. However, the images and lack of technology that Stranger Things evokes makes me yearn for those simpler days.Anyway, I've always loved my synth music and had a few myself during the 80s. The superb soundtrack to the series by Dixon and Stein remind me of some of the sounds I could conjour up on my SH-101 and other analogue beauties I now wish I'd kept. The beauty of their music is you can listen to this album (and the previous ones) separately from the images of the show. It stands alone as a thing of beauty. Literally too with the lovely clear vinyl with blue and white splatter and a lovely thick gatefold sleeve. There is scant information on the enclosed insert, but that doesn't really matter.The soundtrack speaks for itself. And it says "Listen to me. Often". I will.

Great soundtrack. The perfect thing of having this on vinyl is the that the way each song sounds suits vinyl perfectly.

Beautiful. Both the records and the music. It takes me somewhere. Not sure where.

Amazing soundtrack, even better than the first Season. There are however some issues with vinyl quality here. The first pressing I received was warped beyond belief, completely unplayable. The second I have received is not as badly warped but still some issues there. A few moments of excessive noise and massive clicks have occcured on this pressing. There seems to have been a rush to get this release to market. I myself (working in music and vinyl manufacturing) would not have approved the test pressings of this release. I’m thinking about picking up another copy and comparing the two, if the noise is in the same place, this is definitely an issue with the original lacquer.

No download code, no Amazon RIP, excessive noise on the vinyl in places. Will have to buy the CD now as well so I can actually listen to it in decent quality. Very disappointed.
