Wonderful germination
Wonderful germination no cold strat needed. Seedlings identify as a false indigo so it's looking very promising.

A Jiffy planter proved to be the best thing for beginners like me
I was ecstatic that I have two sprouts after 15 days!! I know that baptisia (false indigo) is very hard to grow from seeds that are not fresh from the plant. I did nothing to the seeds- I did not soak them or knick them or use sandpaper to rough their edges. I simply bought a Jiffy peat pod system from Home Depot for $8 to hold 72 seeds. A Jiffy planter proved to be the best thing for beginners like me. I followed the instructions from Jiffy for all of my plants. Alongside the false indigo I'm growing chrysanthemums that took 3 days to sprout, impatiens 5 days, flax seeds 7 days and the false indigo 15. If you're not having any luck planting I highly recommend the Jiffy pods because a lot of times the seeds get blamed as bad product when it's not the seeds but rather an incorrect growing method. I compare the seeds to being a CD and the planting method to being a CD player- you need a good one in order to hear your music play. Good luck!!

Semi standard
Some seeds came up, but most of them did not germinate at all.

Do things right. Don’t be impatient.
Germination is successful when following directions for the plant species. Cold stratification required. once germinated they require some TLC to get established. prone to fungus and rot so consider a higher planting location that drains well or mound your soil prior to planting in the garden.I was lazy and didn’t get the numbers I wanted. but I have 4 adults established in my back yard so I’m happy with my results.

Soak the seeds before you plant.
Seeds were smallish , might be because of time in storage.I have grown this plant before & harvest seeds myself, so I do have comparison reference. That said, I soaked them for a day in hot water to soften hard seed shell, or you can nick the shells with a blade .Once softened I am able to split the shell open.I always start these seeds in a damp paper towel placed in a Ziploc freezer bag and placed in a warm area. That how I get the most successful start with these seeds.A good percentage of these seeds did start growing, they aren't in the yard yet.I can tell you that this plant has ◀️ ng deep roots & doesn't like to be transplanted, so be sure about where you plant them.I have purchased other seeds (petunias) from this company & feel I get a quality product for a reasonable price.I highly recommend this product.Oh, the color is more of a purple blue than a true blue. This plant can be grown in some shade but is amazing in full sun. It is a native prairie plant & not evasive in northern region's , I can't say about in southern areas.Looks gorgeous with perennial pinkish red chrysanthemum & a dark purple tall bearded iris. They all grow well together.
