Dont waist your $
Don't waist your $. Out of the box the bearing lock nuts were way to tight easy fix though, every single spoke was so far out of tension I had to take them apart and re-spoke and properly re-tention the spokes with my park tensioning tool which got them to spec. Put em on my bike and went for a spin and not a half hr into the ride the spoke nipples started loosening to the point of coming off. The only thing good about this wheel set are the below average rims which i will keep and get better spokes and nipples and make them myself. If I could give this review a big fat goose egg I would but since I can't I'll give it a reluctant 1.

unless you ca build a wheel, you won't know how to keep these on the road. or have a bike shop nearby.
Update, rear wheel snapped a spoke after about 55 miles, hence the 1 star.Seemed a bit better looking online, spokes weren't tight, as in at the factory they just let the machine true them, then stick them in a box. The rear, after two quarter turns on every spoke, did last the 25 miles so far and stay true, while carrying me plus the trailer I'm dragging. I have an extra rim I picked up at local shop just in case, and the old 700 rim is tied onto the trailer so I've got it covered in case this one dies.If these things last the bike trip I'm on, I might put the set on a rat rod bike of some sort.

Great value, good performance nice looking
I was skeptical at first but after looking on several popular sites and being denied shipping due to my APO status, I could only find these to fit my Marin Bolinas Ridge V-brake style bike. I was in the process of refurbishing and I needed some good looking and cheap wheels. Although these are made in China, I think they are quite nice. The weight is very similar to my old wheels but the looks are so much better. I am not a high performance biker so I don't know why I would pay hundreds for a set of wheels. I have not ridden hardcore yet but these wheels have the same solid feel as the ones that came with the bike. They look amazing with my new black and silver parts and I actually prefer the yellow stickering. The front wheel was straight and the back wheel maybe not but its better than my old 15 year old wheels.I took a chance on this with only a few reviews but if you are looking for a decent replacement set, this is the one for you. It can handle both disc and v-brake setups. I used it on an 8 speed MTB setup with v-brakes. So far no complaints. If I end up having an issue, I will update this post later.

Weak spokes and will go out of alignment really fast... if you value your life don't cheap out and get something better
They were not as good of a deal as I thought when I got them. Both of the wheels went "out of true" within minutes of using and the spokes started loosening on their own... and if you don't catch this on time they will snap, just like it happened to me. The rear hub freewheel is not very good either and if you don't do some "break-in" (as in let the wheel rotate freely for a while) it will seize and you won't have a freewheel anymore...I wouldn't recommend using these if you are a heavy rider or plan on doing serious off-road... mostly due to the wheels going out of true... and weak spokes...Make sure you use the supplied tape in the insides, they are not deburred very well and they will blow your tubes if you don't use these, found out the hard way.At only 300 miles I had to replace my rear one due to a broken spoke.

You’re just buying scrap metal!
Don’t waste you money! I bought them for my second/junker bike. It’s an old Schwinn Moab but I still love it. Anyway, I couldn’t get them straight. I spent hours on it and it’s something I can do well. So I took them to my local bike shop and he couldn’t get the straight either. Needless to say I left the bike shop with a different set!

Not for use right out of the box! Loose spokes will get unscrewed
I like the looks of the rims and how they perform. However, they arrived with loose spokes. On the very first ride there were two (!) tightening nuts of the spokes which came loose and ended up in the rim ratteling. I had to disassemble and put them back. On top of that I had to adjust all of the spokes to get the rim straight again. Nothing for someone who does not know how to do it. I put some tread lock on the nuts, so they will not come loose again. Now the rims perform well and stay straight.. I was able to save the rims before serious damage/bend occurred, but I doubt that everybody knows how to do it or even wants to do that... so not a complete failure but only three stars from me...

MTB wheelset
I bought this wheelset because I needed a extra set. I went to my local bike shop looking for a set, but $259 for their cheapest pair was a bit out of my price range. So I found these and bought 'em. I currently have these on my Rockhopper with 2.2 X 26 Bontrager Hank B tires for commuting to work. While these wheels are not super light, they are lighter than the stock wheels that came with my bike. The wheels came straight and true, albeit with a few very small nicks to the black paint from shipping. No big deal, really. I installed a SRAM 11-32T 8-speed cassette and the shifts are smooth. Like the previous poster mentioned, all the yellow lettering are actually decals. I peeled mine off and it definitely looks better. Now, these wheels are certainly not on par with Mavics or Easterns, but if you're looking for nice, fairly light wheels on the cheap, you can't beat these.

Poorly Made
Although when I ordered these I didn't expect the finest wheels on the market, I did expect more than I received. In less than a month, multiple spokes loosened to the point of detaching from the outer portion of the wheel. Upon noticing this problem I checked the remaining spokes. The total number of tight, secure spokes on both wheels was a paltry nine (9).If you're interested in converting your bike to discuss brakes you'll need different wheels. You do not need these!
