Without support, my knees ache on runs, and when I run in the cold, my knees swell up.I just found out about knee braces/sleeves that hold my patella in place, that I can wear while i run. These almost eliminate my knee problem. In particular, the pro-tec gel force sleeves work great.I thought the P3 would be even better - the Bauerfeind's website says the p3 is for athletes with patella problems. But the p3 really shortens my stride, and feels pretty restrictive. It stops my knees aching completely, but I'd rather be wearing cheaper lower profile braces that give me 95% of the support. I would only advise getting this if you have serious knee problems.

This product did not hold up. It ripped and starting falling apart after the first few uses. Not returnable. Crazy

The GenuTrain P3 knee brace was ordered for my Patella Femoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) to alleviate arthritis and improper patella tracking. It is extremely comfortable and beneficial compared to the basic Neoprene knee sleeves but it is constantly slipping down my leg to the point where my kneecap is no longer positioned correctly in it. I have the correct size based on the measuring chart from Bauerfeind. My solution to the problem (and one the company should look into) is to loosely wrap below the patella padding on the outside of the brace a Velcro strap to keep the brace from slipping down. Problem solved, great brace.
