As most veterans will attest to, the classic military poncho liner (Woobie) may be one of the most versatile and comfortable light blankets in the world, with endless uses. This particular version appears to me to be military grade and the camo pattern appears spot-on. It is light in weight, soft to the touch, easy to wash, does not wrinkle easily, and is of the standard military size, which is very adequate for one person. It can be used for camping, an in-car emergency kit, bug out bag, a throw for couches or bedding, and/or mated to a military poncho to make a sort of water proof sleeping system. It’s not designed to provide comfort in very cold climates if used alone and is a bit bulky, as these have always been.

I did a lot of research and called Fort Benning and talked to some of the stores they used. At the time the two stores the fort uses were completely out. Wouldn’t be in again until it was too late for us.A lady at the store told me about this specific woobie. I asked my military mom group as well and many had purchased from here too.I had it sent to my son and he said it was exactly what he wanted and needed for deployment. They don’t give them woobies anymore due to many soldiers not returning them due to their attachment to them while deployed, but many still want one. If your soldier wasn’t issued a woobie and wants one, this is it.

Shipped fast, arrived perfect. No rips or tears, definitely brand new. Looks like army surplus to me, not chinese knock off crap. Super comfy. I washed it in the washing machine on delicate with a small amount of detergent, and dried it in the drier on no heat and everything came out fine. Make sure you tie the tassels so it doesn't get caught in the washing machine.

My husband is a retired Green Beret and one of the items he misplaced over the years was his beloved woobie. So for Christmas, I ordered him this one and let me tell you - that guy is like a little kid with a security blanket. He keeps it on our bed and although he usually kicks off our comforter / sheets throughout the night, woobie is always there to rescue him from the frigid tower fan winds!I even ordered him a second woobie from another patriotic / military company online recently (you know, because 2 woobies is always better than one - especially when one is dirty with the blood of your enemies) and honestly - this woobie from Amazon is a FAR superior design. It's noticeably thicker with a higher quality stitch and the strings are a substantial heavy duty material similar to really wide, flat shoelaces. Not to mention - this one on Amazon is about HALF the price of the other one I got him... so you seriously can't go wrong if you're on the fence about ordering this!P.S. If you're a wife that's notoriously and relentlessly cold (like me) - you will find yourself stealing this miraculous warming device regularly... then telling your hubby to use a different, subpar blanket like I do. It's really his fault for spoiling me with the finer things in life over the years!

Wow! Haven’t ever owned one of these and had to find out what all the fuss about these were for. I ordered two. One for wife, one for me. These are warm, soft, light weight and roll up small for their carry bag. Great for a BOB, or keeping in vehicle if you get stranded overnight or in cold weather.Now we know why people love their “woobies” so much! We do too!!!!

Well, it’s not an “issue” item, there is no NSN on the tag but, I really like it. It’s thicker than the issued one and, it’s pretty warm and comfortable. It might even be better than the issued one.
