The best one to buy
This Bergeon one is made of spring steel, as it should be, and is the choice of the pros, while still only about $8-$10 more than the cheap non-Bergeon, non-spring steel garbage that you will see. If you need one the Bergeon is clearly the only one to consider.

I resized the band to fit the smaller barrels of my Horotec loupes
When the loupe holder arrived, too large to grasp my loupes, I was able to draw the loupe holder spring smaller to grasp my smaller barreled Horotec loupes. Used a hose clamp, the 11/16th" diameter round bar handle on my bench vise, and a flat jawed pliers. With the hose clamp pinning the end of the loupe spring to the round bar, simply progressively pulled the loupe spring tighter around the small metal bar. After setup, the process took 90 seconds. I viewed a 5-minute spring making video on You Tube to realize this was possible. Worked like a charm.

What you actually need instead of what you thought
I began disassembling watches during a long illness . I guessed I needed a high magnification sapphire lens. Wrong. You need about 5X magnification for most purposes and a well vented plastic lens. Too much magnification makes your work harder and glass or sapphire in a non ventilated loupe will get condensation on it also making your job harder. I looked up what actual jewelers use and this is it.

Not impressed
This holder is made for Bergeon loupe holder. It is not universal. I reformed the holder portion by unwinding it and got my standard loupe into it. However the head portion must be for a head much larger then mine as I cannot get it to fit well. Best fit I could find is over my head and the end under my chin.

Be warned, these are for Bergeon loupes only
I want to be VERY clear. Most stores in the United States only sell this Bergeon loupe holder, yet sells B&L, Horotec, Anchor, and Bergeon loupes. Do not be confused, this loupe holder is not for any BUT Bergeon. You will have to go elsewhere if you have other loupes.
