Stens 751-830 Snowthrower Safety Tool

Here in Michigan's U.P. we get a lot of snow (up to 300" annually) so I have been able to use this quite frequently. I use this for the 47" 2 stage blower on the front of my sub-compact tractor. I originally bought it to clear the chute when snow is wet & plugs up the chute, but I also use it to remove the snow from my blower before I put it back in the shed after removing snow. What I find is it is quite flimsy for general use like scraping off snow, to the point where I need to hold it close to the scoop to get enough leverage. I went back to using an automotive ice scraper for that. It works OK for chute cleaning, but again the handle flexes so much I have to hold it near the scoop to dig out snow. I will keep seeking out a product that is up to the task.

Feels like cheap plastic, but surprisingly durable. Digs the "wet wad" of slushy krap out of the blower chute better than a stick or your fist so you don't have to swear as often. Be nice if it had a loop molded in for a lanyard or rope, no way to hook it or hang it on the blower.

This works well for clearing the chute of my MK Martin Meteor snowblower, one star off for the handle warping after leaving it out in the cold but it doesn't really affect the performance so I'm happy with the purchase.

Used it to clear the chute on a snowblower. Would be nice if it came with someway to attach it to a snowblower besides the hook.

This little shovel works perfectly for removing built up snow from the shoot of our snowblower. Excellent buy.

It is a must if you value your hand and fingers, all new units come with them... If you put your hand in there if it gets you you will lose those fingers...
