First Words (Bright Baby)

I had one of the Bright Baby books (colors) in my daughter's "library." I liked it so much better than most of what she had because it was one object per page with a big, real picture. Many of her other books had multiple pictures per page which made it hard to focus on one image or they had cartoonish pictures that weren't always a good representation of what they were supposed to be. Based on the ease and clarity of the Bright Baby Colors book, I ordered the First Words and the Animals books. I am not disappointed. With these books, there's one picture per page for my daughter to point to and for me to tell her what it is. I can tell that she's recognizing these pictures a lot easier and a lot quicker than images in other books. They are definitely a great tool for fun learning.

Clear pictures, good selection of words

Bright colors and high contrast grabs infant's attention! At 2 months, she is even beginning to reach to help turn the pages!

This is her favorite book right now (12m) and I love the full page picture to practice word association.

This colorful and informative board book is perfect for babies and toddlers. My now 9 year old daughter had the bright baby books collection as a baby, so I knew I should get my nephew started on these for his first birthday. He loves books already, so this was a perfect gift. It's great to read and look at with your little one, and then ask them to point to the word you call out. Before you know it, they'll be reading it to YOU!

I love this book so much for my babies. This book is a great choice to read to your baby everyday for language development. My first son could name every picture by the time he was one!

Love this book and the price is really good. My child did immediately bite a hole into the binding so these aren't the most durable compared to other board books.

This book is well made and was a nice little gift for my daughter, who was 16 months when I gave it to her. We have a collection of several of these types and this one is just as good as the others. Good price also, but I think I saw it at a local book store for a little cheaper or the same price. I think this is essential to your child as he/she is just learning to recognize words/shapes/etc.Update written on 3/16/11--- I was revisiting my past reviews and thought it was important to note that it is 5 months later and this book is still in almost the same condition it was when I bought it! My daughter is generally rough on books (she is 2 now) and this can stand up the the daily handling. For that reason I would give this book 5+ stars now if I could.

My 3 month old baby loves to look at the bright pictures in the book. He even makes sounds and smiles when he looks at his favourite train in the book.

My grandso always brings this book to me and anything that looks like a ball lol he says to me as that is besides cup the words and sounds he is grasping at the moment and it makes him feel very proud of himself. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very nice book motivating baby to get involve in learning...

Our one year old daughter loves these books. The simple images and bright colours really attract and hold her attention. The page sizes are perfect for her to sit with and flip through herself.

Quality is good. But some of the items which have been shown as first words for baby like coat, train, boat, I don't think they should have been part of this book as these words are not expected to belong to first words group.
