Exact replacement for OEM
Fit my Toshiba laptop perfectly and works as intended. Keeps a charge for a reasonable time when AC power isn't available. Price was reasonable and availability was great.

I received it and had a 66% charge on it which is good. But I think I actually have something else going on with my laptop because it doesn't charge the battery. I do now get a symbol on the laptop that does show the battery is connected so there is something else going on that is good. For right now I don't know if its the battery on the laptop still that causes the battery not to charge. The original battery with the laptop doesn't even register on the laptop this one does.3/236/2018 Update: Yeah, its laptop that's the problem, not the battery.

Brought my 2008 laptop back to life...literally!
I was about to throw out my old laptop because it had to remain plugged in to work. I decided to see if I could still buy the older style battery and BAM! I have a laptop that will remain charged for a couple of hours again.

Nothing like the original
The battery that came in my HP ProBook 4540s was the original and it stopped holding a charge, after using the numbers to look up a battery, this replacement was near the top with a pretty decent price tag. I got the battery, and charged it up completely over the weekend. Took my laptop to work and within 45 minutes I was down to 60%, I was however doing an excessive amount of things during that time period. I ran it for another hour with only using the internet and it dropped down another 15%. So I charged it up over night and tried again the next day with only internet usage. After 2 days of only using the internet, I made the conclusion this battery, on light usage is only going to last about 3 to 4 hours. For a cheap fix, the battery isn't awful.

Waste of money
I bought this battery based on the mostly excellent reviews and received yesterday. When I first installed it, it started charging and stated at it was at 27% and charging. It remained there for a long time, until I rebooted my laptop. Then it went up to 31% and again, remained there for a long time. I rebooted again, and this time it went up to 45% and remained there for hours until I powered off my laptop for the night. This morning, before turning it on, I tried a trick that I had learned with my former laptop, several years ago (unplug the charger, take off the battery, press the power button on the laptop for 3-4 seconds (the LEDs should flash, mine didn't this time), reinstall the battery, plug the charger, start the laptop). When I did that, my battery suddenly showed as 100% charged! I was skeptical so I unplugged the charger and indeed was able to use the laptop for 2.5 hours. The battery indicator was telling me that I still had about an hour's worth of power so I closed the laptop (which puts it in sleep mode) and went out for a couple of hours. When I came back the battery was completely dead. I rebooted the computer with the charger plugged in and the battery started charging, stopping at 1% and remaining at 1%. After 20 minutes of this nonsense, I tried my trick again, but this time the battery is still showing at 1% available, plugged in, charging. It's been half an hour and it's still at 1%. So I'm going to contact Amazon and ask for the refund, based on the fact that 1) It doesn't seem to be charging and 2) when it's charged, it discharges even when the laptop isn't operational. The original HP battery that this replaced was over 2 years old but charging fine to 100% although no longer holding the charge for more than 30 minutes. So I don't think it's a problem with the laptop.

Only Charges When Laptop's Asleep
It only actually charges when my laptop is in sleep. There have been times where I purposely stayed off it to let it charge for a significant amount of time, only to come back to find it never actually went to sleep for whatever reason, so my laptop wasn't charged at all. This is very detrimental as I often have to do group work in locations without a plug nearby, HENCE THE REASON I BOUGHT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. So needless to say, I'm kind of disappointed. I just have to remember to charge it at night like my phone.

Great Product. Perfect Fit. Similar to the original. Getting 3 hrs of backup so far. Cannot resist the offer of 1/3 price of Original battery. How long it will stay like this? have to wait and experience.
