GrainfatherConical Pressure Transfer Kit

Works when you are in a pinch.
I have mixed feelings about this product. there are a few modifications to the design that could be made to make this a great tool. I have been brewing for only about 6 months but I have brewed 10 - 5 gallon batches and this has been a handy tool when needed. So I am still very new to the process. On a normal basis I would not use this product, but there have been a couple times where this puppy has saved my beer. I have experienced situations where my fermented wort (beer) has been stuck in the conical and could not be extracted through normal means. From the bottom valve. that is when this has come through for me and saved all of my hard work.Using the transfer kit does come with its challenges and that is why I gave it only 3 stars. First thing I was surprised that the hose for the CO2 was not the standard size. It is smaller and thinner than you regular sized hose. This was easily fixed as I was able to shove the kit's tube inside the normal transfer tube and clamp it. Probable not the best way to do business. I'm sure there are fittings that could be purchased, but I was committed at the time so you do what you have to to get your beer kegged. Now for the second challenge...the placement of the pressure gauge is placed in a way that makes it difficult to get the clamp secured. You will have to fight with it for a few minutes to get it properly clamped. When you figure out how this thing works and get past a few of the imperfections it has this product comes in very handy. You do need to be careful when setting up the stainless transfer tube that you do not just shove it into the pressure assembly as you can rupture the O-ring and cause a CO2 leak. All in all the pressure kit has come through for me when I needed it. I am glad that I have multiple options available to me and that is what this kits does. It gives me another option to extract my beer. Cheers!!!

Smooth transfers
So easy to use with minor modification. See pic. I cut some of the rubber off so clamp is easier to attach. Highly recommend!!

Works great
Transfer beer to keg with zero chance of introducing oxygen

Poorly made and designed product.
Co 2 leaks from all the connections. The tri-clamp is difficult to attach due to its proximity to the pressure guage. Be warned that the hose it comes with does not fit a standard Co 2 barb.
