Runs great and easy to start!
We did receive a damaged generator. Looks like it was wet somewhere. Good correspondence from the seller to settled with us to go ahead and keep it rather than sending it back. It did not seem to affect any mechanical issues and they had us check to see if it ran good before settling. Satisfied with the power. Will buy this brand again!

Customer service is none existent!!!
I gave it four stars, because the unit itself is really a good purchase. The unit I purchased was advertised and it was disclosed as having some damage to the packaging. When it arrived, it was a little more than the packaging, one of the wheels was crushed, one of the motor mount bolts was pulled loose and there was a slight bend in the frame. Obviously, this unit was treated roughly. I called and emailed Rainier every day, two to three times a day for two weeks and I am still waiting for a reply. That said, I had a friend spot weld the motor mount, I straightened the frame with a little farm boy mechanics and I super glued and used black silicone sealant to repair the tire. Put it all together, filled it with oil, hooked up the battery, hit the starter and the damn thing ran. Which is what I wanted in the first place!!!! It is a bit on the heavy side to lift up onto the rear bumper mounting I built for my travel trailer, but manageable. Runs quietly, puts out steady watts without noticeable pull down when appliances and devices are turned on. All in all a good unit for the money, just wish they had better after the purchase service. Really dreading having to contact them for a warranty issue.

Powerful generator at a good price
I'm using this to operate an RV with a 50 amp hookup, and to power a well that requires a 30 amp hookup, while waiting for the electric company to install my line. This arrived undamaged, was fairly easy to assemble the few parts that needed to be, and fired right up. Running the RV with AC almost all the time, the generator runs about 10 hours or so with a full tank of gas. At the time of this writing, it's been running about 15 hours a day for 2 weeks without issue. When I do get my electricity installed and later when my house is built, I feel confident this unit has the guts to run the house during power outages (fairly frequent out here in rural OK). Based on my experience so far, I recommend this unit because it has lots of bang for your buck.EDIT: Been running this generator for 20 days now, 15 hours a day, with AC, PCs, appliances, TV, etc. I am getting about 10 hours per tankful of gas. Not bad. For this kind of use, check the oil level a couple times a week, and add a little when the dipstick shows low. It only holds a little over a quart of oil, so ONLY add a little oil, check the dipstick, and add more accordingly. It doesn't take much to suddenly overfill it. So far, this unit has been stellar. Hopefully, I will have my electricity line run soon. It IS tedious living off a generator.

Stopped producing electricity after 120 hours of use
This generator worked well while it worked - it stopped producing electricity after 120 hours of runtime.I ran it on gasoline for a while, then switched over to propane no problem. I had trouble starting it with the pull start when the battery was dead. As far as I can tell it was impossible to start via pull start with a dead battery, which led me to believe that the battery is somehow required to produce spark to the engine...not sure. The battery is fairly easy to run down, if you accidentally leave the off/run/start rocker switch in the run position while the unit is not running it will run the batter down. This happened to me once while it was stored in the garage, which led me to discover that pull starting it was impossible (for me). Nicer units (e.g. Firman) will switch into "low power mode" if you leave the run switch on and the unit is not running, which I believe will protect from this happening.Running on propane it struggled to restart (after being warmed up). Often times it required the starter button to be held for quite a while (up to 20 seconds or so), and the choke lever to be moved between choke and run repeatedly.Ultimately it stopped producing electricity at about 120 hours of run time. The engine would start and run fine, but the run clock wouldn't light up and the plugs did not produce any power. I guess some kind of electrical fault occurred. Maybe this unit will do if you are in a pinch, but I would not count on it working long-term.

Five stars for the R4400DF
I don't typically post reviews here but felt I had to given how pleased I am with this purchase. My R4400DF was delivered this morning nice and early, so was happy about that. It's approx. 100 lbs. but the delivery associate placed it just inside the gate on my side driveway, which was perfect.Very easy & straight forward to unbox and assemble legs, wheels, and handle assembly. Next was preparations to start....adding engine oil, gasoline, and attaching battery cable splices together. Took all of 10 more minutes. She started up immediately....no hesitation. Don't forget to engage the choke lever though before starting - this is mandatory! Right after she starts you can move the choke lever back to the run position and the engine just hums right along. So all of this is what you'd expect and hope for with a new generator. But what I didn't expect was this generator is NOT nearly as noisy as I thought it would be. In fact, I had planned on purchasing an inverter generator as well so I'd have something much more quiet when needed - but now I don't think that will be necessary.I plugged in a box fan and it came on so I know it's working as it should and now I'm almost ready for our upcoming hurricane season! Also, last night I went to HD and exchanged two old 20 lb. propane tanks for two new full ones so it's nice to have that as additional fuel. This weekend I will attach one of the propane tanks and see how that goes, but for now just wanted to share how happy I am with this purchase and also thank the manufacturer for the work they put into designing such a nice machine and also Amazon for their always excellent service.Cheers for now ~ Bazza :)
