Been using this product for 60 years. It’s a simple, easy to carry and use anti-heartburn chewable tablet. Some may think that it’s bit chalky, but it’s a chewable with a mink flavor.

So I have been using gelusil for over a year now and I will absolutely never go back to tums. I started using gelusil because I was on dialysis for kidney failure and my acid reflux was so bad that I had two choices every night, eat 4 tums or throw up the entirety of my stomach's contents. So every night I was taking at least 4 tums and as a result my calcium was skyrocketing, which if you know anything about kidney disease that is a very negative thing and can cause a lot of problems. So my nurses banned me from eating tums and told me to find an alternative. It is important to note that I was panicking because I am that person who has such bad acid reflux that I take 80 mg of prescription strength acid reducer and still need an as-needed reliever. This is important because it really helps to show how effective and awesome gelusil is. So in my panic my fiance and i went looking for an alternative and we happened to stumble upon gelusil at a local drug store. We decided it was worth a try because I needed something and couldn't do tums anymore. And thank goodness I found this stuff because it is amazing! Tums are literally dead to me. Gelusil tastes like mint which is nice and its really not too chalky like tums are. I hated the tums so much I paid extra for the less chalky ones but I really don't mind gelusil at all. So far we have the positives at minty, chewable, take it as needed, not chalky, and doesn't raise your calcium especially for dialysis patients. But that's not all. I have seen a significant decrease in my need for extra acid reducers and can actually survive fully on one or two gelusil a day and have gone down on my prescription pills to just a few times a week as opposed to twice a day like it was before. And if I happen to get an acid attack I only need one gelusil tablet to take care of the problem within 10 minutes. I carry these everywhere with me now and buy them in bulk. No more are the days of suffering all day with upset stomach, sticking to the BRAT diet, burning my throat with acid, and still throwing up every night because it so bad. Gelusil has seriously changed my life and I can eat mexican now with absolutely no worries. If you are skeptical buy a pack and try it for yourself you won't regret it!

I take 10mg Famotidine before evening meal. Sometimes I eat a bit too much, and need a 'rescue' Gelusil tablet. It is NOT calcium based, which builds up and requires higher doses over time. Gelusil is magnesium and aluminum based, which actually lowers the amount of acid reducer you need over time! Another acid reducer with the same or similar ingredients is Gaviscon. I prefer Gelusil because it comes in blister packets which are easy to travel with.

I found this for my wife accidentaly when she needed some Antacid on our anniversary trip, the most. She loves it since then and always carries a strip of the tablets everywhere. Unlike other tablets, this tastes just like a Mint mouth freshner, but works much more than that. Effectively works on your stomach burns within minutes. The best part is you can have it even if you aren't sure about the actual reason of the pain and it wouldn't affect you negatively. I earlier got it at a CVS store but I believe, its so much in demand that I wasn't able to get hold of this in a nearby store. That's when I saw this on Amazon and quickly ordered a pack of 4 without giving it a second thought. I bought this for my parents and in laws so that they can also be benefited by this wonderful product. Surely, recommended.
