This was my children's favorite book and it is my go-to baby gift for boys and girls.Simple animal stories celebrate the value of art and poetry, courage, communication and friendship. The wonderful stylized illustrations make the words and ideas accessible.Even after endless rereading [and I speak from experience here], the humor and charm of Lionni's work stay fresh. This book belongs in every child's library.

I first encountered Leo Lionni's books was when my daughter was 8-month-old. I remember reading to her the story of "Frederick" and instantly fell in love with it. Now my daughter is 5, and we still read the story together. I am glad that this collection also includes the stories of "Swimmy" and "Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse"--another two of my daughter's favorites. "Fish is Fish" has very nice and imaginative illustrations, but the story is not as endearing as other three. Nonetheless, it's a must-have collection for its enduring stories are, I consider, the classic.

Frederick has been one of my favorite books of all time. Now that I'm a grown-up, I give copies of this to all of my good friends with young children. I can't resist sharing this charming collection of classics with them. The stories are simple and the illustrations are whimsical & adorable. You can buy the stories separately, but this book comes with 4 stories and an audio CD as well! Good value and hard to pass up!

There is wise and loving whimsy found in these fables by Leo Lionni. The delightful artwork complements the stories in a most charming way.

Four very existential tales –generally about being happy in one's own skin. The moral of the stories come shinning through in beautiful poetic imagery. "Fish is Fish" is our son's favorite. He takes this book off the bookshelf and brings it to me to read to him regularly –and he's only 15 months old.

My three grandchildren have enjoyed this book very much with each one of them having their favorite story out of the four in this book! I always keep an extra one to give out as a gift.

I gave to new grandson, Frederick. Leo Lionni is a must on every child's book shelf. The art and stories last forever.

Best audio book with CD. My son's favorite!

The stories and illustrations are wonderful, but the quality of the paper was poor.

I'm not sure who loves this book more, me or my daughter (4)! It might be me... The stories are wonderful, and the fact that a CD comes with the book is definitely a bonus.

I love books by Leo Lionni. That's one of the reasons I bought this.It has 4 different stories in one book including one audio CD. Though it says it's mostly for children, I think even adults can enjoy the stories.
