WATTIO ENERGY PACK Smarthome Energy Pack

Was excited about this. A lot of strong features that made it stand out in a quickly crowding field. However, I was concerned as the energy pack does not come with the Pod, and it seems like a lot of the specific features it advertises (being able to turn off a specific device, receiving alerts if someone turns on a tv (or some other device), "Presence Simulator", robbery prevention) depend upon having one of those. Okay if I have to buy an add on I guess (although that adds to the cost obviously), but even though the system has been out for a few years, there is no POD for the US, and you can't even order a European one anywhere (the only store that carries them according to the Wattio website is in Spain and does not ship US). I did receive because I went ahead and ordered while waiting for a response from Wattio customer care about getting a Pod (had thought they could direct me to where I could get one, but instead informed me that they hoped to have a Universal one out sometime in early 2016). So debating on whether I want to keep it for the other features or return it and pick up a 2nd gen Nest. This looks like it'd be a great device if I was in Europe, but for being in the states unless I am mistaken about the PODs role in the special features, it feels very crippled. And with no US presence at all, I'm a little concerned as well about support.UPDATE: Cannot even set up an account online necessary to use the device. First of all, the literature directs you to a website to download the manual, but that page is a 404 (no longer there). But I was able to find Manuals on the Wattio website. But after going through the whole registration I had to log back on and it says "Incorrect Username or Password." After trying again, I reset the password. Tried that 5 times. Then I saw that they sent an email and I had to click a link on that to complete the registration (not mentioned during the initial process). THEN the page would not work until I install Silverlight on my Mac. there is a link right on the page, but it doesn't work. So I went to google and got the Silverlight plugin manually. But even after installing, reload my browser (chrome) and Wattio site still says i don't have Silverlight. So as of now, I've spent at least 30 minutes just trying to get online (the time it says it takes most people to install everything) and nowhere. Not for US I guess.

The first thing to say is the first home automation kit is finally easy to use, easy to install and with an affordable price. Any other solution I've had (a few) have been continuous headaches and considerably more expensive. The design of each component is carefully conveys strength and quality (albeit plastic).The control can be performed from the Gate itself (host) or from any mobile / tablet with Android or IOS system. It's great to be able to access your home from anywhere at any time and to turn on or off the heating, raise or lower the temperature, see the power consumption at all times.Highly recommended.As a less positive note, after 4 months using the pack, I still have my doubts that help me to save, but it makes me aware of the power consumption of the house and if it's helped me to detect any electronic device consuming more than normal.And I wish they would improve the GUI both web and mobile applications.

Fully happy with wattio system! We have used for our small office (sinnple.es) of 60m2 (650 sqft2, I think) and have found relevant savings: we have been aware of consumption of screens, laptops, printer, server... even if they are off (40-50 €/year), we set a program for water heater turning off at night and weekends (15-20€/year).. we have even discovered that we have 3 emergency lights consuming 35€/year although there is no need of such lights in an office as small as ours.We had a very positive surprise when discovered that even if you switch off internet connection, programs will still be working so that we can switch router off at night and weekends and THERMIC and POD will still continue with their calendars switching off and on.To be improved: accuracy with degrees of THERMIC (sometimes temperature rises too much); & when changing calendar to PODS, sometimes you need to log out and log in again to make it work.

Before buying, we had some doubts whether it would save money with it or not. But in just a few days I was convinced of the potential of wattio pack. I removed automatically stand-by (we used to forget to switch off despite our awareness), avoid forgetting heating system on at night or when nobody is at home (due to automatic remote control and calendars), noticed that I can reduce the maximum power at home (which implies savings in Spain)... Plus a few funny actions: my elder daughter was designated as "electricity police" watching for not-swithced-off lights... Screen and control make it funny!Summarizing, during this 6 months I have saved half of the cost of the purchase.On the other hand, I encourage wattio to improve sthetic of website interface and would be great if more saving advices are shown on website

I've been using it for a week, and I saved around 100W every day...As you can program a calendar, you can switch off a very device that it's on standby whenever you want. I personally switch off nearly everything during the night and also when I'm working; and as I arrive home, everything is prepared to use.Using the mobile App, you can view and control your home. The money it costs, will be recovered very quickly with the money I save dailyI am waiting for the security devices also, that would send me a notification when something opens or moves at home.

Very useful product! Very easy installation, with good step-by-step guidance and a great support. Whenever you have any doubt the team behind this product is always on and answer any question very quickly.Now I know the "behaviour" of my house and have the information to reduce power consumptions. In love with the mobile app, which I can use to heat my house in advance or just check the consumption of the different circuits.I highly recommend this product!
