1810140 ANCHOR SYSTEM, DECKHAND 40 Minn-Kota Electronic Anchors

1) Somewhat noisy which can possibly spook fish.2) D ring to hold anchor while traveling a pain to use. Difficult in rough waters to remove and replace. The pin is small and easy to lose or drop in the water. I replaced the d ring with a spring-loaded carabiner faster and easier to use.3) Battery wire very short. I had to slice on more wire to reach my battery. I doubt most purchasers have a battery connection 4-5 feet from the front mounting position.4) Handels my 30 lb. anchor well but comes to almost a stall when the anchor gets buried in the mud. Could become a problem with a 40 lb anchor. Seems I made the right choice here.Overall would buy again. Really saves on my back and shoulders and makes it very easy to change fishing locations when fishing perch or crappie.

It takes some getting used to but has no trouble pulling a homemade 40lb anchor. Depending on access to the underside of your mounting surface it can be difficult to install. I recommend against using the included bolts. I used stainless bolts with extra large washers because it will have some pretty serious torque if you use an anchor close to what it is rated for. It’s not very quiet going up and down if you are fishing. Definitely no power poles but poles won’t hold a boat in 50ft of water

don't like being sold anchor winch with remote and not getting remote had picture of remote in add i guess they want another 50.00 for remote that is advertised in add as part of system they are selling

I used this on my 17 foot Lund and am more than pleased. The 30 pound anchor held in 25 feet with a 15mph wind. I will never use a different anchor again

Works great no problems so far.

First summer main circuit board burnt out, use 3 times. 2nd year maybe used 12 times tension stop spring broke. Really had bunch of problems with this Deckard 40. Finally took anchor off, back anchoring by hand. Would not recommend this unit.
