Stainless Steel Phillips Pan Sheet Metal Screw Assortment Kit

Needed stainless steel screws for a project, past experience left me with low expectations. These screws were like the old school American made screws... the heads did not strip under load... the heads had a mirror finish... and the threads were clean and complete with no manufacturing burrs.

Inexpensive variety pack. Some complained of heads breaking off, but that's also the case with TV mounts lag screws.Make sure pilot holes are wide & long enough so the screws are not tapping the hole.If you're frustrated with heads breaking off, apply (dry) hand soap to the threads.The "stainless steel" isn't 18/8 quality, so a little rusting in wet/harsh conditions is expected, but should survive better than standard steel screws.In HD & big boxes, stainless screws go for about $1 each in small quantity bags. They're all made in China, but better quality from Taiwan. German & Swiss components are expensive, but my wife says, "You're can't go wrong with German" (like her cars).

I prefer to use stainless fasteners on most projects. These screws have worked very well so far but I have not used them in a wet environment to know how well they perform against moisture.

A must have for boat projects. You will easily spend 4 times as much if you buy lose screws on a need basis over time. Plus the hassle of having to run to the hardware/marine store just for a couple screws. This is a no brainer. Buy it.

Nice package to have onboard the boat. Some of the screws have stripped out too easily compared to other barnds. May look at other options in the future. Good enough for now.
