Gold Medal Fitness by Dara Torres
I am a group exercise instructor and a Pilates instructor. I really admire Dara Torres and wanted to know how she trains. This book gives really good advice for the older athlete or average person trying to stay in shape. She focuses on core strength and flexibility and emphasizes the need to listen to your body. I've included her exercises and stretching techniques in my own workout. I've also included the techniques in my senior fitness class. The seniors feel the difference in their bodies and feel more stable as a result.

Easy read but photos and stretching instructions are confusing
I don't like the diet section but the rest of the book is a combination of motivational talk and good instruction on exercising at any age. The stretching instructions are a bit difficult to follow.About to stay the program and will update post with results.

This is an excellent program. I'm 82 years old and after following the excercises I can say that my legs feel better than they have in years. I have used a gamut of exercises, weights etc, but none as good as these. Strongly recommend it.

Not For Everyone
Bought the book thinking I could use her routine at home. If you don't have a home gym with a cable system and a partner willing to workout with you then you're out of luck with this book. Useful to use at a gym, but you'll still need a partner. The author assumes that her readers have access to a gym, home gym equipment and a partner. To complete all of the exercises will take 15 weeks, not 5, so that is misleading. With all the money that I've wasted buying books from authors who are out of touch with the average reader, I could have purchased that home gym with the cable system. Save your money.

Fun workout routine
The workouts are low impact, but easy to build up to.Very fun, but cardio has to be incorporated at least twice a week to keep results improving.

It's what you focus on
Really appreciated the perspective of a woman my age, getting out to achieve her goal. No matter what would have been considered the 'normal'.

god medal fitness book
i love to swim and have coached high school swimming. However at my age (60-70) I thought I could use some of her techniques in my home pool. I liked reading the book but found that I could not use much of her winning ways...

GOLD MEDAL WINNER
GOLD MEDAL WINNER...very easy to read and follow. Complete directions, and many foods, exercieses and routines to choose from. Appropriate for all ages, with easy ways to modify most exercises. Totally satasified. Purchased for both of my grown daughters.

Dara is such an inspiration!! anybody who wants to achieve a goal no matter how small or big swimming related or not should read this book.

Tolles Buch von Dara, Stretching, so wie ich danach gesucht habe
Toll geschrieben und die im Buch vorhandenen รbungen sind genau das, wonach ich bei meinem Sport, dem Schwimmen, gesucht habe. Ich kann englisch, deshalb ist es fรผr mich kein Problem, das Buch zu verstehen.
