Callaway Men's Steelhead XR Fairway Wood

First took it to the driving range and noticed i hit the ball straighter and farther than with my old fairway wood. The first time I used it on a round was on the first hole from the rough with about 210 yards to the green. I needed to hit it about 185 yards to clear the water, it went about 200 in the air and ended up on the green about 5 yards past the pin. I immediately kissed club and knew it was a great purchase. I hit consistently hit it straighter and further than ever before. Even the occasional miss hit went straight. This is my new favorite club.

Replaced my 20 yr. old set with new equipment. With this fairway wood, I can grip it & rip it. Very forgiving, I get good distance even when hits are not perfect in the center of club face. I use it off the tee & I can hit the ball well on not-so-great fairway lies. Hits are much straighter without much effort. So far, hard to miss-hit this club. New Technology is definitely worth the investment, even though my swing speed has declined . I like the way this club feels all the way through my swing - perfect weight. There is very little jolt in my hands even after a towering, great hit.

This club is surprisingly easy to hit from all lies, but it has a very strong draw bias. If you tend to "hook" the ball, look elsewhere. When I got the club I was hooking it all the time and getting frustrated with it. But I took the time to figure out how to grip it to avoid hooking it and now I really like it. So, if you need a draw biased club, I do recommend it. If you don't, it might be a close call. My club did not arrive with a head cover but I called Callaway and they sent me one a few days later. Having said that, the head cover is the ugliest and worst I have ever seen, so if you don't get one, you are not missing much. I immediately put mine in a pile of stuff to donate to "Goodwill." The club, however, that one I am keeping in the bag.

Update: Very late, but they did replace my 5w rather quickly even before I had sent the new one back. Anyways, I’ve played one season of golf with it and it is a great confidence booster club. When I’ve been unable to hit driver I’ve pushed this out pretty far being it’s a 5w. Great club for the price.Came damaged with a cracked shaft. Hoping to see a fast turnaround with a new club.. ;( I will change to 5 stars once I get a new one that’s not broken..

The reason I gave this 2 stars is bcuz I kno I’m gonna like the club. I have the same club in a 5 wood. However I cannot believe that this club did not come with a head cover! I’ve never had to buy a head cover for a driver,fairway wood or rescue club in my life! That is petty and rediculous! I really like Amazon and use them ALOT but this reflects poorly on u guys. On top of not coming for a week, u wanna squeeze me for a head over too?!!! Rediculous!

This is a great club that is easy to swing and provides great results. Probably the easiest club I have ever had to swing and the price was right. I also highly recommend Callaway products. I had some issues with a golf bag from them twice. They replaced the bag both times no questions asked. They even gave me a newer bag after the first break because they did not have the year of the model I had in stock for free. There is almost never a wait time on their help line and people are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Delivered on time!! Club is in excellent conditions. Took it to the driving range. Great 5 wood distance was around 200 yrds with crappy range balls!!

I purchased Callaway Steelhead 3- and 4-woods. I had been using an adjustable TaylorMade 3-wood and am now exclusively using the two Steelhead woods. Both have performed beyond my expectations . I'm a 15 handicapper and these two woods have me on the way to reducing my handicap.

Loving this club. It’s become one of the most consistent clubs in my bag. Looks sharp and performs as such. Feels great.
