Fontanini by Roman Inc., Centennial Holy Family, 5" Holy Family Collection, Nativity Figure and Accessories, Hand Sculpted and Painted

After looking in gift shops and department stores and finding no Nativity sets, (really, is that crazy or what?) I was pleased to see the various choices on Amazon. One of the things that attracted me to this set was the excellent detail on the facial features, especially the eyes. Other sets looked more sloppy as if painted on by a child or with a too thick brush making the eyes different sizes or weirdly positioned on the face. I was pleased that his looked realistic and when I got it. This set is made with resin so don't expect the chalk-like ones you had under the 1960's Christmas trees, but I got this for a friend who has children and thought this would work. The resin looks just as good, plus if it's dropped there is not damage. (My mom's Joseph was missing an arm thanks to my brother.) These colors are more muted, they are not bright jewel tones like on some other sets, but it actually gives a more classy look. My friend loved the set. One more thing, Jesus is removable from the crib if you're into putting him in place on Christmas day. Many sets don't offer that.

We have 8 grandchildren so we are each Christmas giving a piece (or in this case the whole family for the first Christmas) of the Fontanni nativity until they are 10 years old. We love the quality and the price we found at Amazon. Each child has their nativity set in their rooms during the Christmas season and it is a beautiful reminder of the real meaning of Christmas for our family. I especially love how some years even Shrek has been seen in the manger along with the Holy Family.

Love Fontanini. They are beautifully painted and each piece has its own personality. I buy a different piece yearly for my Nephew/God Son at Christmas. They don't break, so the kids can learn while playing.

I have been on the hunt for years to find a nativity set that was worthy of the hand carved stable my grandfather made for me. These Fontanini pieces are just the right size and absolutely beautiful! The detail is amazing. They appear to be made out of some sort of polymer which is perfect for me as I have two mischievous cats, but you would never know from outward appearances. They definitely look to be ceramic at first glance. I am looking forward to expanding my nativity set year after year with the numerous pieces that are available in the set.

This will by far be your favorite nativity set. Made of the hard plastic that is durable that your children can hold and even play with. Made of beautiful realistic work. It will take you back to the Holy Land to that one Holy Night

This Fontanini holy family is the start of a traditional Christmas nativity display we will be giving to our son and his new wife. Each Christmas we can add pieces. The collection is extensive, each piece is wellcrafted and attractive and, most important, everything is virtually unbreakable. Children can carry the pieces around safely.

Have been collecting these Nativity figures for many years. This purchase was a Christmas present to my great grandchildren. I will add figures each year.

My husband and I got the whole nativity set over 30 years ago. We enjoyed seeing our kids handle the unbreakable pieces. When each of them got married we began giving them pieces of the Fontanini each Christmas. The holy family is the first piece to be given.
