Lippert Components 432698 Alumi-Tread Quad Manual Step

So much better than my old steps. Super easy to sweep the steps clean.Folds in and out easily.

I have always trusted the quality of Lippert products. The measurement width is about 1/2" shy of what is listed on Amazon, but for me that turned out to be a good thing. This is a two person removal of the old steps and installation of these Lippert steps. I had to upgrade from a 3 step to a 4 step because I had to have a lift kit installed on our 5th wheel. I should have rated this product with 4 stars because it did not come with new mounting hardware, so I had to reuse the hardware from the 3 step I removed.

Great, exact replacement

They look nice. They feel sturdy. However, the frame is 1/2 inch wider than on the Lippert steps I replaced (28 instead of 27 1/2). They're also taller. Was able to remove the angle trim off the opening, to make room enough to force the step assembly in, so it worked for me. I will make some new trim that doesn't wrap into the opening. I would buy again, but for some applications this step assembly will be too wide, and too tall.

Very happy with the stairs. Great upgrade from the black OEM stairs.

Looks original on the RV. Sturdy and works as original. Easy to install. Definitely a good choice to replace a broken stair.

I ordered one of these from Amazon as a "used/ like new" item. When I received it in the original box it had a few tears from the item inside punching through. When I opened it there were not internal packing materials and the item was pretty damaged. All the corners of the base were bent, the top bar was bent, and the top stair scraped when I tried to DePoy the stairs. I figured that someone had returned it without any packing materials and when reshipped it was damaged. Not taking any more chances I purchased a second one locally and picked it up myself. I was shocked to see that the original packaging just had the stairs dropped into a regular strength cardboard box. The stair mechanism was not even restrained. This is totally not shippable in this condition.With regard to the unit itself, it seems to fit per the specs and deploys nicely. I like that it is somewhat lighter than the unit I am replacing. The rubber strips on the top look like they don't fit into the grooves evenly and after a little bit of work trying to get them to seat, I was unsuccessful. Time will tell how durable these stairs are over time.
