Thunder Power RC TP610C-ACDC Multi-Chemistry AC/DC Charger/Discharger/Cycler with Balancing System

I bought this battery charger to charge my 3S 11.1V LiPo batteries for my DJI Phantom. This no-nonsense charger lets me easily charge at whatever rate I wish. The 25 memories are very helpful. There's also a useful discharge feature.This charger has already saved me money. My phantom went down at night (it has awesome running lights), and I could not go find it until the morning. This brought the battery pack down to 3.3V total; This is normally fatal for a LiPo battery.I was able to connect it up in NiMh mode, set it to 0.5A and the fantastic backlit display allowed me to monitor the voltage until it got up to about 9.8V total. At this point, I returned to LiPo mode, and the voltage was high enough for the LiPo recovery mode to function.The recovery function did its job flawlessly. Extensive testing showed the battery functions just fine, although I know it will have a shortened overall lifetime because of this ordeal.I gave this four stars instead of five for the following two minor reasons: 1) It does not have a battery / cell internal resistance function. This is a very helpful way to gauge if your battery is nearing its end of useful life. 2) It does not have a cooling fan. While it does not get exceptionally hot, it does get pretty hot and I'm maxing out at 7A in 3S LiPo mode. Charge seven batteries in a row and it gets pretty toasty. It would be hotter in the higher power modes. A small cooling fan would probably lengthen the products life.The product was quite a bit smaller than I expected, which is a nice bonus when I want to take it out with me.This is an exceptional value and it's great to be able to clamp onto a DC source for power! If you don't already have a DC power supply (which can cost as much or more than this charger), this is for you.

We use these chargers to charge Thunderpower 5000mAh 4s packs for our UAV. In general they work great! I have bought 4 of these in order to charge more batteries simultaneously.Pros:-Easy to use-Simple to set up-Memory is good if you have different batteries that you frequently switch between.-12V or 110V option is convenientCons:-The wiring going to the balancer board is not the best. We have had it short out right where it connects to the board (sparks in the vicinity of a charging LiPo battery do not instill confidence). I have put a little dab of hot glue on the other boards to ensure the wires remain in their housing to prevent this in the future.-12V power supply cables are not removable, since I leave two of these at my workstation all the time, the cables just get in the way.Even with the one incident, these work great and I will continue to buy more of them as my needs grow. -1 star for the wiring, otherwise a 5 star product.

This product is amazing. I use it to charge my LIPO battery on my Redcat Racing Volcano EPX Pro. The charger that comes with the truck takes between 8 and 10 hours to fully charge the battery. When I finally figured out how this charger worked it only take about 35 min to fully charge the battery. The downside to this unit is there is it does not have good instructions. It took me awhile to figure out that you needed to complete the circuit on this charger. The board that comes with this does not charge the battery you have to get the proper lead to plug into the side of the charger. If you dont know how to solder, you will need to order T-Trees HXT 4mm Charge Cable or whatever connector your battery has in order to get this to work. It comes with a charge cable that you can solder your connector onto if you have solder material and the proper connector. The only reason I gave this a 4 star was how difficult it was to figure out how to use this and the lack of instructions.

All in all this unit is great, you don't have to have a 12V external power supply as with most all other units, although this one gives more power with a 12V supply. I only have 1S and 3S batteries for a couple of units and this thing works perfect! Tells you how many amp hours it put back so you know where your 80% is so you can set your timer. I am totally impressed with this unit!Con: Doesn't have the ability to drain down your battery for storage levels....

this charger works just fine on both Lipo and NIMH batteries. However the ease of use sucks. Its very difficult to use the first time out and the instructions were written by some one who can not write the English language nor can they explain the normal sequence of key strokes. Someone should tell thunder Power to rewrite the instructions or they will loose customers who are not computer savy.

This is a good charger at a good price. It does not accomodate every battery connector on the market, but their is a cheap dongle adapter that will solve that. Also, not the most intuitive charger, but if you are willing to read the instructions that came with it and read the instructions that came with your toy, you should have all the info you need. I would reccomend it to anyone with a fundamental knowledge of batteries and charging, but it is complicated enough that I wouldn't hand it over to a ten year old...though I'm sure I would have loved playing with it when I was ten. What's the worst that could happen? Blow up the batteries and burn the house down?

Outstanding charge. Well made and for the price this is just the item I needed. I do wish the 12 volt power supply cord was removable but can sure live with it.

Great charger, but only gets four start due to lack of directions. Need to research via web to use this to its full potential.

This charger is mint! Works really well and does exactly what it says. It's nice that it has so much memory too. May needs to upgrade when it comes time to charge multiple batteries at once but that's that's the only downfall. Would definitely recommend!
