This Lift Support works great but, would be better described as a Lower assist. It does a good job keeping the tail gate on my 2008 GMC Sierra from falling when I lower it. It doesn't actually help when raising (closing) the gate. Well worth the money and very easy to install in minutes.

I was worried about my little girls opening my tailgate and having it come down on their head or hurting them. I saw this and thought about it for several months. I pulled the trigger and I am glad I did. I can open up the tailgate and move my hands away and it will drop slowly. It serves my purpose. I don't plan on having it free fall often but it does serve as a safety feature when my kids want to play outside and sit on the tailgate. They can open it themselves. Very happy with it.

First, the thread locker bottle was empty.But I had a tube of blue thread locker.Second the tailgate lowers faster than I had hoped it would and am considering purchasing another to slow it down a little more. Install was pretty easy. Just a little disappointed in end result.

I installed it on my 2007 Chevy Silverado tailgate and it makes it much easier when loading stuff and it makes it so the tailgate going to drop down hard and damage things
