I love pineapples so I am so excited to have discovered these lanterns! The reviews were very favorable, overall, which made me comfortable in purchasing them. They look great and have a real charming appeal.My one criticism is that the directions were not explicit enough when putting it together. I came to discover that there is a top and bottom of the glass globe-- they are very slight in size of opening on either end. This makes a difference when making sure the cap fits on top securely.My one CONCERN, as I've only had them for 2 weeks now, is that water gets inside (whether it be rain or morning dew) and creates condensation inside. I'm worried this will have some kind of long-term effect on them working properly. The glass globe only has a slim rubber seal around the top and bottom edges (which aren't attached too well) so I can see how rain/moisture get inside. And the glass globe just sits on the base of the lantern--no groove or anything that would help to, in fact, seal the inside. Time will tell, I guess...

Like another reviewer, this discolored within one year and rusted to pieces at 4 years (see photo). I like the look, but I don't like replacing fixtures every other year.Update:I dismantled the lamp and spent a lot of time with it. The lamp rod coupling and the nuts are made of steel. Other parts are not and will not rust. I replaced some of the lamp rod with solid brass and used brass nuts. Then, for the rusted bowl above, I used my 3d printer (your library likely will print for you) to make a new one and lined it with aluminum foil (if it sparks/burns, it won't matter due to location of my pole). I need to buy some black enamel to paint it, but with these few parts, it should last for another few years until the piece that holds the bulbs rusts out. Maybe this can help someone else get more miles out of theirs.

We needed to replace our outdoor lighting and the Pineapple design screamed unique and southern hospitality. We ordered the post lights, plus the two sizes of house lights for our porch, garage and cottage. All lights were packaged well and all parts were there. My husband had no difficulty putting these in -we were replacing so the hard work was already done.The glass pineapple is very lightweight. I had to tap on it to make sure it wasn’t plastic more than once. The metal (we purchased black matte) is also very lightweight. I am a bit nervous that it won’t last but after a month, it is holding up fine.Per other reviewers comments I purchased the “flame” bulbs for inside. Leaving them in for now since its Halloween but will remove after. I think it will look better with clear bulbs.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with these lights! They emit a good deal of light and are just lovely to look at when lit. Our previous lights were a lot dimmer and had openings on the top and bottom. The openings allowed a gazillion bugs to go into the lights and leave their corpses behind. They were always a mess! These lights are a lot brighter, as I previously said and don't allow the little buggies to make a mess. I'm very happy with this product. (Only 4 stars simply because I don't give a 5. It would have to serve me breakfast in bed before I'd give a 5. :-) )

This is a beautiful pineapple lamppost lamp. Very bright, providing great light to the front entrance of my home. Other lamps look boring and dull by comparison. Does everyone need a pineapple lamp? Probably not, but once you have one you won't be able to return to a boring rectangle lamp without incurring a deep, soul crushing sadness.

Replacing the identical item. The first on finally rusted away at the base, We live a block off the Atlantic Ocean, so we expect things to deteriorate pretty quickly...salt is on everything. We certainly felt it did well. and managed to go through 2 hurricane...the new one is up and waiting on Hurricane Dorian to get tested.

Beautiful bright light but has a fatal flaw. Not waterproof. I live in Florida and every time it rains the lights goes out. Did I say I live in Florida it’s rained every day this summer. Last night it was flashing on and off and making popping sounds from water getting in it. It’s “sealed” but has standing water sitting inside it: now I’m not sure what to do :(

I bought this to match the hanging lamp from the same collection. Hanging lamp is glass this is plastic. I live in FL and there’s moisture inside this lamp (I don’t have the problem with the hanging lamp). What can I do? Why are they different
