The instructions are abysmally inadequate. Maybe it'll be just what I'm looking for, but I haven't gotten it to work yet. One part seems fully charged, the other not at all. Can you charge one part and not the other? No faq or q&a included. I haven't even gotten past that to test it and actually use it. I'm sorry I bought it.2 months later: I am pleased with how it works once I figured it all out. My dog is now giving the chickens their space. He didn't react at all to the buzz or vibrate, but only to the hard shock. However, it only took twice for him to get the message. Unfortunately, the collar is clad in cheap plastic that falls apart. Luxkily, the core stands up a bit better. It is important to know your dog's temperment before using it. My dog is resilient and bounces right back. He is not a sensitive sort of guy. I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars.

The hand held transmitter would not allow me to adjust the strength of the different modes. A few times I was able to get the buzz or shock to go to number 2, but then would be stuck there or revert to zero and not allow me to change it everytime I tried to use it. Ordered a replacement. The replacement transmitter worked ok but on this set the receiver (collar) light would not turn off. Ever. And a loud beeping noise would randomly go off. Returned this item and requested a full refund. Waiting on status. Would not order again after 2 defective in a row.

This collar would work better in a small yard on an animal with thinner fur.I ordered this collar for my Husky/American Eskimo mix. The Dog Widget shock collar we had before this one was very effective for our dog until it died. This shock collar however, barely got a response from her. Even when all settings were turned up to 100, I'd be lucky if it even stopped her in her tracks from more than 25-30 feet away- if it actually went off at that distance. Some times I had to push the button multiple times for the collar to do anything- at a full charge.I also picked this collar based on other responses stating the collar could be changed because the original collar was somewhat cheap. I did not care that the orange came off the collar, but that the collar totally comes undone on my dog. I can have it as tight as I can without choking her (when only 2 fingers fit between the collar and her neck) and she still somehow manages to get the collar totally undone and off. I have looked for collars to replace the one it came with but neither Walmart nor the local pet store have collars that will fit on the shocking device.

We are very happy with this training collar. We have purchased 2 other collars on amazon and decided to purchase this during lightening deal. **all training collars are not the same. With the other 2 collars we bought, we had both the vibrate and shock set at max 100 and didn’t seem to bother our cocker spaniel who bolts and runs out any open door. We have this collar set at 30 and you can see him literally halt in his tracks when we push the control. I also like the orange color. And the battery lasts very long with this (have not charged the collar and it’s been a week now).

I've been through a few of these and compared against other collars. It performs well and the unit last a good long time. It is easy to use and the ability to handle 2 dogs with one unit is great. Also the range is excellent. The collar tends to lose the coating within a week if worn by an actual dog. It works fine without the coating.

Works well but the plastic on the collar started cracking and peeling on the second day. I bought this set for the color but sadly I am disappointed. I either have to find another collar or buy one because I don't want my pup to chew any plastic that cracked.

I purchased this for my German Shepherd. He has a barking issue. This product worked initially. I think it was because he didn't now what was going on. However, about a week into using this, it didn't phase him at all. I think the product does work. I just think my GS is stubborn...lol!

I see other reviews on the cheap plastic. I can believe and would have loved to have gotten that far. The device literally won't pair or work anymore. The receiver just vibrates for a second and does nothing. Was able to get it to work when first received it but it has been useless since. Get what you pay for I guess.
