Excellent, with some work
I used this to replace a cracked and broken key fob shell from a 16 kia soul. There were two challenging bits to swapping the original key fob guts over to this. The first is removing the circuit board. The original is held in place by two "mushroomed" plastic pins. I had to carefully cut them off with a razor blade before the circuit board could be removed. The second issue is I wanted to retain the actual key blade from my original key.Don't make the mistake I did and assume you can just swap it over because it won't work. The pivoting piece of the key blade is a different shape and it won't work in the new shell. You have to use a small punch and drive out the pin holding the cut key blade to the pivot piece. Do the same on the blank that comes Roth this, and be careful not to lose the pins! They are not the same size and only one will work when you put the two pieces back together and hammer it back in.Next, to get the "flip" spring to work, insert the new sori g into the back half of the shell. There is a notch the spring has to sit inside of to keep it in place. And next comes the tricky part. You have to carefully (without the spring falling out) put the two key fob halves together but don't snap them in place. You must rotate the back half of the fob 1 rotation counter clockwise (while still keeping it pushed down into the back of the button hole which keeps it from rotating) to preload the spring. Then you can snap it together and out the battery in, and then the battery door. Don't forget to screw the two halves together (if you're replacing an oem fob, then screw is behind the kia logo). I used a dab of superglue to put the kia logo from original key over the screw hole on this new unit. Once all said and done, it looks and feels original!

a pain in the A$$
I got this thinking it would be an easy gut swap.. what I thought would be like 10 mins turned into 45!!. the case it self is not real easy to get apart, but easier than the manufacture original..One you get it apart you will find that YOU actual key wont just drop into place. you will need to take a SMALL punch and remove the little itty bitty pin, remove the blank key and insert your key..now that i did that everything went back togehter real good and the remote still works.

Looks factory
Great product. Little bit of work because of a pen that holds the blade (key) in place. It has to be hammered out and hammered back in to swap key. Everything else is easy.

We put the key together which took awhile and of course the key doesn’t flip open but it will close

Does the job but if you're not handy you should pass
I have a 2015 Kia Soul. With the exception of any kind of instructions, I was impressed with the quality of the pieces and everything that was included. The first thing you should know is one of the most important parts is reversed, so if you're intending to use your old key instead of having the blank cut, it will not work unless you tap out the retaining pin and move the old key only over to the new turning buckle. This isn't the hardest thing to do but if I had tried to put the old assembly into the new fob without doing this, the case would not have closed properly and the key would not retract and open properly. Other than that, and the complete lack of instructions, the piece is very nice and I will order another one for my other key fob. Durability is unknown until I have it for some time.

Take Your Time And Be Gentle
The empty shell came pre-assembled, and I ended up breaking off part of a corner while trying to separate it with a spudger. But at the end, dabbed it with glue and put it back, it's good enough.

Worked pretty well, but study up before attempting
No instructions in the package. I couldn’t find exactly what I had on YouTube, but I am pretty handy. You WILL NEED SPREADING PLIERS to make this work. It took me two days to get the factory Kia fob apart. It went together pretty easily, but that OEM package is stout.

As good as original
The spring mechanism broke in my original key so I was looking for the cheapest way to do this. This was able to disassemble and reassemble very easily. It was my original that gave me the most trouble. They want to make sure nobody was getting that apart to tamper with anything. But this was very easy to get apart and install the board and key insert into.

Works great!
This worked great for me, swapped everything over and done. Very happy with the purchase. For those who said it didn’t work, you’ll have to ensure you transfer the chip over. Otherwise it will think it’s being stolen and not start.

Killed my 2015 Kia Sportage
FOB looks identical to mine so it should be no problem right?Your factory key has an immobilizer in it that will be destroyed and disabled when you remove the innards to put into this FOB. It will render your car useless and your car will no longer start. It will need to be towed and then you will need to purchase a new fob from the dealership $480 plus tax from KIA for replacement FOB. Also the flip out key from my fob does not fit into this replacement nor does the rubber piece that sits between the circuit board and the buttons. To be honest it was a shatshow to Frankenstein this only to cost me $800.00 in the end. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Save your money
I bought this mainly for the spring. When you replace the spring you have to spin your key to create tension on the spring for your key to spring out of the fob.. two turns in the spring broke. The company was not willing to replace the product or refund my money. Do yourself a favour and don't buy this junk fob.
