I use this solely for wetting watercolour paper, so I can't comment on how it works with colours. The natural hairs hold a very nice amount of water that spreads nice and smoothly. It has a pleasant, clean smell to me, though my son does not like the scent - maybe because I grew up near animals amd he hasn't?I'm perfectly content with this brush. It hasn't shed and hasn't disappointed me at all in the several weeks I've been using it. I'm happy and would recommend.

Don't let this fool you when you first open it. Looks cheap but it works beautifully, the bristles are super soft. I use it for watercolor paints and it spreads evenly.

This brush is made of very soft goat hair which works perfectly for wetting watercolor paper before laying in other colors. It holds a good amount of water yet it allows for a consistent wash without puddles or drying out to quickly. The edge of the brush can be used for more detailed wet on wet applications. Great for skies or gradated washes. I haven't had any trouble with loose hairs and I use this brush daily. The handle is a bit crude but for the price it's a great value.

Holds plenty of water. Lays paint down good in washes. Didn't drop hairs.

This is a fabulous brush for creating beautiful sky paintings! The brush hairs are so soft which makes it easy to produce sheer and smooth applications of paint. This is a brush I will be purchasing again.

Just what I needed for my watercolor paintings. Good quality, sturdy, feels good in my hand. Would recommend.

have a comb handy!!! Luckily I’d read some reviews when I ordered so I already knew there were shedding issues. Well, actually those issues are rather persistent, I comb the brush before each use but for the price, they’re fine. I’ve had more expensive brushes perform worse, at least with Amazon I know I can always get a smooth refund.

Perfect for my encaustic work. Brushes are well made, they don’t shed, and they lay down the wax in smooth strokes.

I would have given it a five, but it was not packaged, simply thrown into a box. Very nice brush to work with
