Way off from current nutritional and dietary recommendations and research.
All the recipes are again, off Internet sites where you will get better directions with fewer spelling and context errors.I don't know why anyone would want to trust a health and fitness expert that thinks and even states there's such a thing as "saturated sugar" in the intro to her book. "Vegetables are the number one source of healthy nutrients and fats." Really? I've never seen that in any food composition table. I know they have a tiny amount of fat to be able to convert beta carotene to Vitamin A but I would hardly think that vegetables are by any stretch of the imagination a number 1 source for fat."Activity has been linked to a healthier heart and body." Not that we now know that heart disease and diabetes Type II are the biggest killers of more and more people around the world. We now know that hardened arteries are caused by too much fructose which is the raw material for LDL=b that hardens the arteries and is directly related to the incidence of diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, NAFLD in addition to other diseases according to the latest research and the newest Guidelines for a healthy diet in the USA.I won't bore you with all the spelling and grammar mistakes in the book because other people have already identified enough of them to let you know there are MORE.Fruits do NOT have as much fiber as do vegetables calorie for calorie. Neither do whole grain breads and cereals -- only between 4-9% of their calories in the form of fiber while asparagus averages 34 to 42% fiber, winter squashes 15 to 31% fiber, radishes 40% fiber, artichokes 64% fiber, cucumbers 13 to 23% fiber and zucchini 21 to 27% fiber just to mention a few. This is perhaps one of the biggest information rip-offs the government has ever given us. But the food plan is NOT designed by health professionals but by the USDA -- let's guess if they design the plan to keep more wheat farmers and processed food producers in business. It takes a lot of vegetables to overcome the high sodium of "2 cubes of chicken bouillon" plus "1/2 tsp salt (Epson salt or sea salt)" which is not a good idea. Epsom salt is NOT to be used to drink even though Dr. Hulda Clarke promotes it for a detox colon emptying purge. Now that we have more efficient microwave ovens and veggies have a high water content, it is better to zap fresh veggies like green beans, potatoes, etc., in the micro to cook rather than do the old fashioned blanching which does remove some of the water soluble nutrients in them.Added sugar is no longer the recommended dietary practice so adding sugars of ANY kind is no longer healthy. This includes her favorite sugars, agave nectar and honey, which are almost as high in fructose as 70% but even with 55% HFCS everyone bad mouths (with good reason) in sodas. Fructose is fructose is fructose and it is NEVER healthy as an added sugar and really should be reduced in terms of natural occurring fructose in fruits. It always goes directly to the liver where it contributes to NAFLD (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) and diabetes according to the latest research. Pregnancy outcome is superior when pregnant women eat MORE vegetables than fruits as reported in the latest research over the last 2 years. Vegetables have fructose and glucose equally balanced in vegetables but much higher fructose than glucose in fruits which is why they can kick the blood sugar up even if you're not diabetic. This is probably why fruit leads to less desirable pregnancy outcomes and the development of gestational diabetes in many pregnant women. You get the gist. Hardly worthy of recommendation.

Mostly good recipes
I love Mediterranean recipes, I enjoy them as often as I can. They are simple, healthy and with few ingredients you can make a delicious dish. This book was free and I got it with a hope of finding some new recipes to try out. I found them, but I also found some really weird recipes that are too complicated badly written to follow. Fortunately, most of them are good and I wonder how and why some of those recipes ended up in the book.If you are looking for good and imaginative mediterranian recipes, you will find them in this book. It is not a great book by any means and I have better cookbooks for sure, but it certainly has value.

It's ok.
In reviewing the writing, it is clear it was never proof read (and I sucked in English). Examples "bell pepper, onion, and the small red people." or "½ spoon of salt (Epsom salt or sea salt)". First two recipes are VERY heavy in salt that is not listed in the ingredients. Nobody on a diet would boil potatoes in 1/2 tbs of salt per quart of water" then do the same AGAIN for green beans, then use chicken bullion cubes AND add more salt. Can't spell beet correctly in a title "12. Baby Beat Green With Spicy Mediterranean Vinaigrette" can't spell yogurt anywhere in this book corectly. "½ a cup plain yoghurt" is just one of many.Recipes after the first two seem much better. Be careful, read twice, then give them a shot. At least five of them I am going to make. Watch out for the selfless promotions at the back of the book. All the 5 star reviews must have never read it first or...

Another cookbook to add to your digital cookbook shelf. Some easy recipes, Others more involved.
I don't get cookbooks for the diets they tout, so I cannot review the Mediterranean Diet, but I do enjoy looking through cookbooks for ways that they might improve my life, by giving me more variety in my diet, and things to try. This cookbook does talk about the diet itself, along with its facts and mythology, so you might learn something new.It has salad recipes, main dishes, and snack recipes. Those baked sweet potato fries do look delectable. The Eggcetera is an easy recipe if you're looking for something to do with hard boiled eggs left over from Easter. (dip egg slices in extra-virgin oil and sprinkle with paprika and kosher salt; how simple can you get? Hard boiling the eggs was the hardest part of this recipe.)

Mediterranean BIble!
What an awesome cookbook! I love this cook book! I recently fell in love with Mediterranean food a few months ago. So i decided i was going to give cooking it a try. I found this book while on on its promotion and am i glad i did. This book was very well written and had tons of amazing recipes. This book has made it so easy to cook Mediterranean instead of having to scour through all the recipe sites. Sara did a amazing job show casing the most tasty and popular recipes out there for you or your family to enjoy it also comes with a lot of bonus content! I definitely wouldn't think twice about buying another book from Sara!

Only complaint is that this book does not list how many servings. It is hard to buy / prepare food when you are on a budget, or making plans for a party of 2, 3, 8, or 20 if you do not know if a meal is for 2 or 6 only.

Several good sounding salad recipes
And I love salads. I will be trying them out soon. There are some editing errors, but not so many to make it annoying to read. My biggest complaint about this book is lack of basic nutritional information, serving size and number of servings.

It looks too good!
Cannot wait to begin to find my roots. I am part Italiano and crave this type of food daily. As a child, I watched and inherited the knack to spice heaven. I am overweight and have developed Gout. There are restrictions to my diet, especially the meat products but my imagination is humming with ideas from the book. It was a joy reading the forward, and I will pursue the ideas that I lost somewhere in the past.

Difficult to understand
I found many sentences in this book ambiguous. E.g. Their meal plans integrate less than 30-25 % fat. What does that mean? And recipes that consist of a single sentence without a full stop makes wonder if something is missing. E.g. In a medium bowl toss the olives, oil, pepper, oregano, basil and garlicI'd love more information about the dish. Is this a starter, main or dessert for example.Disappointing.

Even thought its free, its still not worth it.
This is poorly written. It has no serving sizes, Hard to read and follow the recipes. The layout is very poor and it just hasent worked out.Even though it was free, i couldn't recommend it to anyone as it really is poor. I did like one recipe out of it and i think that was becuase it was easy and simple to do and to follow, compared to the rest.

Nice photos
Bought this book for an extended stay in Spain. Bit disappointing as a lot of the recipes required a full oven and we only had a hob, so not as useful as I hoped it would be!
