1oz (15FT) 925 Sterling Silver Wire 19 Gauge, Round, Half Hard by Craft Wire

This seller is sending out "craft wire"--i.e., "sterling silver PLATED" wire instead of the actual sterling silver wire that's listed! I was lucky enough to discover this when I tried to patina (tarnish) the wire to a darker color, and it didn't do a thing. It's got some type of plastic laminate coating on it...making it truly non-tarnish, just like cheap craft wire.

Not the best quality, but good for the price. I bought this mainly to practice my wire-working techniques in making jewelry, and it’s great for that purpose. The gauge is thin and very easy to work with. The quality is still good enough that I have been wearing some of my practice pieces, but some discoloration is occurring in the inside of rings. For pendant wrapping, where the piece doesn’t touch the skin, and even looser pieces where there is not a lot of wear on the wire, it still looks good as new. Oxidation on copper is normal, and in some cases, the discoloration adds to the look of the piece. I have not tried using any type of clear coat on it to prevent the tarnishing, but that may work to keep the brightness.

I am a bit frustrated because I purchased 2 orders of the 20 gauge sterling silver half hard wire, about 2 weeks apart and the first order was accurate. I just received the 2nd order and there is no way it is half hard wire. It is so flimsy compared to the first.Very disappointed in the quality of the second. How can these 2 orders be the same?

Very nice wire. Soft because it's Copper, lovely consistent quality wire. I made hanging plant basket hangers, paired eith cut, faceted glass beads they Rock!

Made brush connector for power sander, needed springiness to ensure firm connection around brush holder.

This wire was perfect for wrapping my real crystal jewelry. I wanted something that was a quality product and this wire is perfect. I will buy again.

I've not bought this wire type before, but really wanted a medium fine gauge 100% copper wire that would work well with wire weaving. This wire is perfect, exactly what I wanted.It's got good flexibility, while still being firm/ stiff enough to hold the desired form. Easy to unspool, cut, etc.I can definitely see myself buying it again as needed.
