Good British recipes
This is a British cookery book, with quite ordinary recipes in it. I think confusion may arise from the differences between the U.K. And US versions of English. Here is a quick guide to translating ingredients, or substitutions where useful. Hopefully I didn't miss too much:Tomato purée = tomato pasteCoriander leaves or fresh coriander = cilantro leavesMinced chicken (or other meat) = ground chicken (or other meat)Back bacon - substitute Canadian baconGoujons = battered and fried strips or sticks or fingers of something e.g chicken goujons are fried chicken stripsHob = stove topMuscovado sugar = brown sugarCayenne pepper = red pepper (hot)Roasting tin = roasting panCaster sugar = fine sugar (you can use regular sugar)Chestnut mushrooms = cremini mushrooms (you could use plain white mushrooms)Sorrel is a slightly sour tasting weed - you could substitute watercress or arugula (different but still would be tasty)Swede = large turnipPancetta is in all our New Hampshire supermarkets, but you could substitute bacon if you can't find any.Leeks are also common in NH. They are like very mild onions. If you can't find any, try substituting shallots.Streaky bacon is just regular bacon here.Gammon steaks = ham steaksPolythene food bag = ziplock bagGround coriander = coriander seeds ground up to form the spice you find in little jars at the supermarketGaram masala = Indian curry powderNatural yogurt = plain yogurtButton mushrooms = regular white mushroomsPlain flour = all purpose flourKitchen paper = paper towelsCourgettes = zucchiniSuet - can use frozen, shredded butter as a substitutePrawn = shrimpDouble cream = whipping creamSingle cream - you could use half-and-halfRoquefort = blue cheeseCrostini = bruschettaStrong white flour = bread flour

totally useless
I downloaded this on my Kindle, and read through the book last night. NOT ONE RECIPE is useful. These ovens are suppose to make life easier, and this cookbook was written for a seasoned chef. Most of it, I couldn't understand what to do with ingredients I have never heard of! DO NOT BUY!!

european measurements and foods
This book must be from europe , as the measurements are metric with some american , in most cases the book does not tell which rack or position , some of the ingredients i never heard of and had to google . on the up side the book did give me ideas for using the halogen air fryer

Disapporinted with lack of some detail information.
Not as informative in specific cooking process and a beginner as I had hoped.Unfortunately, in checking local book stores I had to purchase online and Amazon does don provide or allow enough insight into the book before purchase.Had I seen this book on a shelf I would not have purchased it. Check out the web.

This Convection Oven Cookbook is not for me!
Glancing through this book of recipes, I find that I probably will need a scale to weigh out my ingredients and a translator to tell me what some of the stuff is!

I like the book
I like the book, good recipes. Wish I had known the size of the book is small and so is the printing. Also since it is British it took some time to interpret their unique phrases. But a fun good book.

Lots of prep!
The recipes in this book require a lot of prep time and many (quite a few expensive), ingredients. If you have lots of time to shop in specialty stores and time to prep ingredients before placing in the convection oven, then go for it. Unfortunatly, I have the eBook so I can only look at one page at a time, can't scroll down the book, veiw recipes on one page or print out recipes to try. I'll not be using kindle on my PC again! The photos in this are beautiful, if this book was in a large print book it would make a great coffee table book just for the photos. Gourmet cooks/chefs may enjoy this ebook, especially if they own a notebook computer they can take to the kithchen....

Clearly the best counter-top Halogen cook book
How refreshing to get a book that actually deals with counter top halogen cooking rather than cooking in a built-in unit like 'Cooking with Convection'. The instructions are so very easy to follow, even for an old guy, and the colored pictures are a plus. Measurements are in USA not metric. numbers. Took 'forever' to get here but I like the book enough to over look the slow boat shipping.

One of the best halogen cook books.
Brilliant halogen cook book. I've just started using my halogen oven again and had lost my cook book's due to moving. The quality and value are great and with 200 recipes you will never be short of ideas. I highly recommend the book. Arrived well packaged and quickly.

Bright colourful and easy to follow
This is a good book for anyone starting off with a halogen oven. It contains recipes for starters mains and puddings. It's not too large but quite detailed and the recipes are well explained with good photos. It gives timings and although this was a gift to go with the oven I had a flick through and there were recipes I would have enjoyed cooking. A nice starter book for anyone wanting to cook with a halogen oven.

OVERPRICED AND POOR
Thought initially it was good, but its not, Not enough details, telling you what rack to place your food on etc, You are better looking on the net, the menu`s in this book don't reflect normal every day folks tastes. Posh rubbish, and too many ingrediants, which cost a lot of money, and difficult to source I n some areas. Save yourself the money, and google, for want of a better word.

HALOGEN IS THE BIZ !
My oven is a boon to this creaky old bachelor. Bending down to open a conventional oven causes instant misting of glasses and serious safety issues! Staying upright, is vital. This range of recipes swings from simple to complex. Being organised is key. Timing is the basic requirement. Oh, yes, some interest in preparing, cooking & eating well-prepared meals helps. Get this book and enjoy yourself! Simples!

Nice to have the information and different ideas
I bought this product when I purchased the Andrew James halogen oven, as we all tend to do when we get a new gadget we all buy accessories to improve our usability for the new gadget. Their overall recipes in this book were very good, obviously some of them wouldn’t be to my taste but that’s just preferable to the individual. It was good having the recipe book in front of you to get an understanding of how certain food products would take to cook et cetera, and having the knowledge of what foods would go with other combinations. Overall well satisfied with this purchase.
