KEENMen's Arroyo 2 Sandal

Keen are great but their sizes vary!
Loved my first pair of Keens last year but found them (the Clearwater CX) a bit thin soled for my only holiday pair of sandals making for tired feet - so bought these bulkier ones. They already feel really comfortable.BUT - oddly, I had to buy a whole half size smaller since the UK size 9 in the Newport was so much bigger than the UK size 9 in the Clearwater. And even the 8.5 leaves me with plenty of room - I could possibly have even tried the 8 but I like loose shoes. Anyway - have a look at the pics too and you’ll see how extreme this is. The Newports are the dark ones and, honestly, don’t they look slightly bigger than the light grey/yellow Clearwaters despite the label on them saying the opposite? I know sizes vary a bit between manufacturers but this is the same manufacturer and the same kind of shoe. One explanation might be that I noticed the Newports were made in Vietnam and the Clearwaters in Cambodia. Maybe the Vietnamese have bigger feet!?Anyway the main point is - do double check your size when buying Keens. They’re great sandals but their sizing is rather inconsistent.

Poor quality
Sadly, Keen sandals don’t appear be what they used to be. The sizes have changed, (my experience when I bought a replacement pair) and the quality too. My son has only worn this pair for a few weeks before the toggle broke and the Side strap came totally apart from the sole.We have been buying Keen sandals for several years. Never again. They aren’t cheap, and so this is very disappointing as it appears that the standards have significantly dropped. I will not by buying again.

Nice sturdy sandal with a higher than usual heel.
This Arroyo li is a nice sandal, my only complaint is it is slightly small in the toe box area, but i do have a broadfoot. My advice, go for the newport if like me you have a wide foot, the newport is an excellent sandal, i have 3 pairs.i alternate them to even the wear and tear, they are so comfortable, but i thought i would try these as they are closed back and i can fit my special orthotic footbeds in them that is the main reason.Apart from this it's a great sandal for standard size feet, so i won't mark it down for that.Just an update, after wearing for a couple of weeks they have loosened up nicely especially in the toe box area, this was my initial gripe when i first got them, i wore socks with them because they was rubbing on my small toe but this seems to have alleviated and i realise i can wear a sock with them or bare foot as i think fit. This has come in handy as they dont look out of place with socks like an open sandal, and great for winter months with jeans, so have upgraded one star to five stars.

Size issue
Once these were fitted with a set of gels they fitted well and are now how I remembered them. The initial response was that despite having bought two previous pairs from Keens at a size 9 that fitted out of the box these felt lose , hence the gels. Now I have them as I wanted I hardly know I am wearing them and an excellent product so far. Really not sure why keen have upscaled their products as I also purchased a covered size 9 boot from Keen and they were so lose my son, who is a size 10 now has them and they fit him well.

No need to improve on something that works.
These are my second pair of Keen hybrid sandals My first pair lasted a good six years with average wear, These would appear to be the updated version the colours work very well i was not too sure but pleased when i opened the box. The reflective parts down the eyelets for the speed laces is still present you don't get any glare from them there nice and passive. The soles/ treads look the same as my first pair so no issue there. I highly recommend them even if they're a bit pricey.

Great sandal - but check sizing- tend to be bigger than the stated size.
This is my second pair. Though others warned about the sandal being a bit oversized I didn't make enough allowance on my first pair. This, my second pair, are a whole size down on my 'normal' footwear size and fit beautifully. I love this Arroyo II hiking sandal!

well made and good for s broader fit.
I have had a pair of Keen sandals and needed a pair which offered some protection against stones, sand etc in a hot climate. I have only tested these in the `uk on medium ground and they shave performed well so far and, especially for me they are wider than normal which I need for them to fit properly.the seem to made well - as are my sandals.

They are great. Highley recommended
We walk the Camino De Santiago in these. They are great. Highley recommended. Do not buy version III. We tried the III and they feel cheap and nasty and loads more plastic and the toe protector is very thin.
