Handmade Working Kaleidoscope - Unique Gift for Everyone, Vintage-Inspired Design, Fun & Colorful Home Décor, Ages

For years, I've wanted to make a steampunk kaleidoscope, something brass on the outside but with gears to view on the inside instead of the usual glass beads. Trying to find or make a custom kaleidoscope was either too expensive, too difficult, or too "kids crafty" looking, and many kaleidoscopes cannot be tinkered with at all.I'm so happy I found this one! It unscrews and re-screws at the end very easily, so I was able to remove the colored glass and plastic beads and replace them with real watch gears and rhinestones from old broken vintage jewelry. I've included a picture of my inner modification (this is not what you'll get when you buy it).

I purchased this to customize and make a gift for a client. This is easily disassembled to make it your own. It did indeed come with the box. I will be back to purchase more and customize for client pitches. This one was customized for bristol, TN/VA tourism, hence the bristol photos in viewer.

The whole purpose of a kaleidoscope is what you see when you look through the aperture. I bought 2 as Christmas gifts, but 1 of them had almost no colored beads and the view is very disappointing. The only reason I didn't return it was it's too close to Christmas and at least it can be customized. I hope my nephew wants to do that before he gets to enjoy it. The other 1 was great. They really are well made, but you would think with all the quality and attention to detail that they would actually look through it to see if the inside view is as good as the outside before they sell them.

Fun kaleidoscope. I took others suggestions and put other objects in to make it more interesting. Exceptionally easy to do! Will be able to change around if I get bored with what I haveThinking of getting another for a present. I had to keep this one!

My mom wanted a kaleidoscope for Christmas. I got her this one. It's well made, but contains cheap looking plastic 'gems'. Fortunately, it is also made in such a way you can open it up and replace the 'gems' that came with it with whatever you want. I replaced them with some birthstone gems of various colors. It's perfect now.

The item was as l hoped. It is very well made,,fine workmanship and so many views no two are ever the same. Now if l can get it from my grandson.......

It was way smaller than expected.
