Description says it will start recording upon motion, but it only takes pictures unless you record live at your own button push.. I also found it does not ring to your phone when the doorbell is pressed unless the cloudedge app is already up and running. So if someone is ringing the bell you won't know to answer but get a microscopic notification in your status bar. When the app is OPEN you get a full screen ring to answer or decline. Biggest problem is my husband and I both wanted to get alerts or watch whenever away from home .. when I added him as friend through this app with his own email it deleted the camera from my phone to view like it was never there to begin with. It's like you can't simultaneously view the same camera.. showed great connection but seemed to be a lot of blurred pictures...

absolutely love this doorbell. Our single chime we have in our home is on the main floor and we would be home and not hear the doorbell when we were in the basement or upstairs.Camera*For us it works great. The camera is good quality you can see a car driving all the way down our street and see what is going on across the street at the neighbors house. Our front door and porch is fairly wide open, after we got ours my father wanted one so I helped him install his at his house. When we turned on the video the image looked terrible, he has a long deep hall kind of a front door, so the image is all distorted by the "light at the end of the tunnel." I have heard several people complain about that so think about what your front door is like before buying, or be willing to place the doorbell in a creative location.Talking through the camera*I have successfully had conversations with my front door guest with me hundreds of miles away. It is wonderful, I can clearly see who is at my door and be able to say hey im at the store I'll be there in five, I think the door is unlocked go ahead and go in or whatever. It is a great feature.App*The app is easy to use, but I have noticed just a few times that the app fails from time to time right when somebody rings, so I don't get a notification or realize, but I have extra chimes now, which are easy to use so I still know somebody is there. The live view feature is wonderful, when your traveling you can check on the house easily. You can just check to see if you have a package or whatever, very convenient.Motion detection*We get several notifications of cars driving by because engines put off quite a bit of heat and this product isn't just simple motion its a moving heat signature, very cool, but it picks up cars often. You can adjust the motion distance, but cars are so hot that 1 of 4 cars that drives by is picked up on the camera. If somebody doesn't want to be filmed, they try to just knock on your front door, but surprise they are being filmed anyways, not just filmed but audio is recorded too! Same with somebody dropping off a flyer.Installation*Don't be intimated by this at all! You download the app and there are several videos of step by step what exactly to do, anybody could install this, trust me, trust yourself you can do it! I was reading alot and watching all the videos when I was installing so the first time took me about 40 minutes. The second time I installed one it took me about 10 minutes.

There was a learning curve as printed directions were terrible. Tried using as a two way communicator at our driveway gate. Camera works great but the software app is terrible. Only works on one phone at time and then just receive notifications half the time. Wife discovers deliveries were made after the fact. We are going back to simple push button intercom at the gate because this us so unreliable. A shame really as the camera is great.

The first one did not work and received a replacement right away however the second one works but cannot get the chime to work no matter what we did. Rechecked the wires and even had an electrician check it out. I know the chime works because it rings when we push the button before connecting to this doorbell. The camera alerts me for motion on my phone but I cannot hear the doorbell when the button is pushed.

it’s really simple to set up, works great and the battery life in all fairness is decent too, night vision is good, the motion sensors and settings is also very good

The concept is cool. Lol. But it sucks.1. It doesn’t come with a indoor ringer...unless you hook it up to your original doorbell...I’m not very electrical savvy...2. Only one person can be logged into the account. I wish I knew that before purchasing.It doesn’t record unless you’re in the app and you press record.

Only one person can have access to app. 2 adults live in my home we both should have access to it. Directions were not clear at all. Sticky tape provided doesn't hold product up.
