Franklin: A brother in search...
In a world too much like ours, with shifting politics and power-hungry opportunists, Ray Franklin must fight the dark-ops battles for which he was trained. He gets an indication that he had a brother who was hidden by the government; he begins digging for information. After a serious injury and a tragedy trying to retrieve a critically important energy source, Ray finds that a highly placed government official apparently wants Ray dead. He finds more secrets but not a complete solution to his searches. The ending leads directly into the next book—not truly a cliffhanger, but definitely an intriguing break point.I love this author’s style with his parallel story development, details of intrigue, ego power trips, and sudden shifts in fortune. I’m ready for the next book.

A fantastic debut novel, very believable, very descriptive.
The beginning of the book could be a little quicker but the pace and tension slowly rise to a great climax and series of twists. The characters are engaging (and nicely ambiguous in places) and it's good to see non-cliche, strong female protagonists. The plot is great and could work anywhere, not just in a sci-fi setting. The writing is very descriptive, the society described is alarmingly realistic. Great mix of humour, action, politics and even a little bit of philosophy. I hope there's a sequel soon.

Ok when is the sequel?
I found it a little slow getting into. Probably my fault as I picked up book late at night when tired. However when I finally had time to read I got engulfed by the book and became antisocial only wanting to know what happened!

I look forward to the continuing story in the next work.
Interesting, intriguing story. I'm starting to see a pattern in Graham's writing, I didn't care for the book at first but soon got into the book because of the story when I realized the depth behind the story, and in the last part of the book I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I get into characters, who and what they are, what makes them tick and Graham does a good job in character development. I look forward to the continuing story in the next work.

Intriguing and surprising
I loved the characters in this book. The story keeps you guessing all through. I had a little trouble getting into the plot, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Great read. I received an advanced reader copy free and have voluntarily chosen to leave an honest review.

A Great Read
This isn't the genre of writing I normally read, but I found this book to be excellent. Some of the descriptive passages are really well written - at times you find yourself carried away and absorbed in the story - which is no small feat for a book set in a dystopian future setting. There is a lot of action that keeps you turning pages - but also some pertinent and timely questions raised about the balance between technology and privacy, the role of the state balancing security and liberty, and, in Franklin's case, the meaning of our own identities. It took a few chapters before I could get comfortable in the story - but once there it keeps you going. Part Mystery, part sci-fi War novel, and part Political thriller - this book has something for everyone
