Madfish Rockstar LRF Light Rock Fishing Rods Hi Mod Carbon

I had never heard of this company and expected another made in china rod, but there is no indication of where these are made, but the supplier is a UK based company, who I assume also makes them. Anyway, it is a very light and well made rod, blue and white with a split handle and good reel holder: there are 9 line guides that go down to very small at the tip, which is very sensitive, It has a casting weight of 3g - 12g and I matched it with a small, white reel and 10lbs mono line which is about the maximum you should go. Taking it out and casting both a 9g plug and, alternatively a plastic lure and 7g weight, I found that the rod casts like a dream, sending these very light weight easily 20 yards, helping to seek out gullies etc in and among the rocks at my local sea-front. It was a joy to use, very light weight, nice looking and not in the least tiring. This is a really nice rod to fish with: I would like to report that I managed to catch something, but hey ho, that fishing. The sensitivity of the tip means that you can feel whatever you cast as it progresses through the surf or over the sea bed and light terminal tackle means less loss as it seems to skip over most obstacles without seriously snagging, although I did lose one lure, but I may have been careless in the way I reeled it in. Overall, this is a nice rod, better than some cheaper rods out there, but not too expensive, anyway.

Bought the 0.5-7g rod around New Year, had great fun with it. Casts the light weights well and is small enough to fit in the boot of a car for those impromptu sessions on the way home from work. Great rod for the price, great customer service from the company, would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking at getting into LRF fishing.
