This rug did not disappoint! I was a little skeptical reading some of the reviews but ordered it anyway. I ordered the largest size which was perfect for my huge living room. The couches are half on the rug, half on the hardwood floor. The octopus is perfectly situated so that you can still see the design despite having furniture on it. The rug is also VERY soft!! I was highly surprised in this regard because I'm a "you get what you pay for" type of girl. Well, I'm happy to say that this rug is not only decently priced, it shipped free, arrived earlier than expected, and the quality completely blew me away. If you've been eyeing this rug like I was, just shut up and put it in your cart LOL!!!One of the reviews that had me second guessing this said that the octopus was not aligned like it was in the picture. Here's some clarity on that - If you look at the pictures, the octopus is right-aligned on the gray rug and left-aligned on the lighter colored rug. Easy peasy.

I absolutely love this rug! I needed a rug for my kitchen and wanted a subtle ocean-themed pattern. This rug was perfect! The size fit was a great fit between the counter and island and the color went well with my backsplash. Yes, as some reviews mentioned, it was curled in some spots after unrolling it. I put a couple of heavy books in each corner for two days and it is fine now. There are still a few wrinkles in the middle but they have noticeably relaxed and are almost gone now. I did not notice any smell. It is big enough and fits well enough not to slide around, but I will probably buy a pad for underneath just to give it a little cushion since I will be standing on it while cooking and doing dishes. It is a great rug and I’m glad I got it!

Got this via Amazon Warehouse. I like it. It's a perfectly fine rug -The issue is that the kraken/octopus is off-center - kind of a partial beast. I imagine there's a big roll of rug and the manufacturer stamps many of different sizes, therefore you get part of a kraken, maybe a whole one, or maybe not much at all.Look - it's on the floor now doing it's thing - so I'm OK :).

I received my rug and what a great surprise. From packaging to the product it’s self was amazing. Excellent quality and looks fantastic on my hard would floors. Worth every penny

I've had the octopus rug for about four months and I love that it's unexpectedly whimsical and charming...I smile every time I see it. It's in the kitchen under the sink area, the perfect size, and the grays are the perfect colors, not in-your-face. When I received it there was a tiny bit of curl on one end when it was unrolled, but I put some heavy objects on it overnight, and in the morning it was perfect. Also, there was no odor, and while not packed to withstand a hurricane, there was no damage. It's well made, and spills clean up easily. If it came in a runner for the entry hall, I'd buy it; I recommend this rug.

The rug is fine. It smells funny, which I’m sure will fade with time, and it’s a little greasy feeling, which I’m sure is just from packaging and newness. I’d be happy with it, except the octopus is on the opposite side of the rug than pictured. There were two color options. They showed the octopus on opposite sides. The one I ordered showed the octopus on a particular side that was needed for my room, otherwise the octopus would be hidden from view. The rug that was delivered was not oriented as shown, and as a result, the rug doesn’t work in the room as intended. There is no disclaimer on the listing indicating the orientation could be different. I’m keeping it because I figured out a way to make it work (sort of) but this is very disappointing.

Love this rug! This fits beautifully at the staircase landing. Lots of compliments. The edges were curled initially but a few books flattened it out quickly. So happy with my purchase

Takes time to lay flat due to weight and the design is more faded than picture.

Like selecting the wrong paper size when you are almost out of ink...

Loved the rug however lately I've noticed the edges have gone wavy almost as if it was stretched. Note this is in a rarely used location.
