Good quality and helps with foot-drop.
I purchased this for my mom who sustained a nerve injury that caused foot drop. It fit in her sneaker and allowed her walk easier and with improved safety. She really liked the cushy straps. The physical therapist liked the strap at the ankle and noted that the extra strap was a good feature. She did have some swelling in her ankle after use, but that may have been her injury and not the product. Also, this was a much better quality and design than the one we saw at the medical equipment supply store. It was also about $40 cheaper! Only negative is that the cutout in the plastic in the back causes chaffing. We had to use some moleskin to protect her skin. The bottom is a smooth plastic with no grip, so you really can't wear this barefoot. Definitely need to wear it with a shoe.

Uh...this thing has literally no support what so ever
I wear an 8.5 shoe size, and this Medium size-left is clearly not made for human beings. I don't know anyone who has a foot that thin. This device was extremely tight near the ankle. Who had a foot this thin? It is flimsy and the support can't be worn in a shoe with the toe area strap on either. Without the toe area strap on and holding your foot to the device, the entire device is useless.Returning it. I see no value in this.

Very nice braces, very comfortable.
I like this brace because of the foot pad it is the length of my foot and not 1/2 the size of the foot. It is very light and fits perfectly. There are a couple changes I made, I do not need the strap over the arch of my foot, I can't wear shoes because they are too bulky. There are other things I would change but have not had time. The straps are very comfortable on the ankle and on the upper calf. I can walk almost normal and I have no fear of tripping and falling. I recommend these braces for people with drop foot.

fixation straps don't stick
This is my second set of AFOs from this company. The product is sturdy but lightweight, provides a good amount of stability, is comfortable and is well made. I especially appreciate the availability of more sizes than comparable products. However, the previous set had both sides of the velcro on all three of the straps: Calf, ankle, and foot. Both sides means the Hook (the rough, scratchy side) and the Loop (the soft, fuzzy side). The new design has a better, more secure calf strap but the "fixation straps" i.e., ankle and foot/arch strap are not as secure. This is because these fixation straps only have one side of the Velcro which is supposed to hold on to the soft breathable material. It does hold on to it, but not as securely as I would like. I would like to see the other side of the velcro on the fixation straps for more ankle stability. I am attaching a picture of my strap - no Loop, and screenshots of other reviewers' pictures where you can clearly see the Loop side on the strap.

Wear in small doses until you get used to it.
I am partially paralyzed below the knees of both legs and have foot drop of the left leg. I have a brace that was given to me in the hospital seven years ago for the foot drop and I also have another shorter, more light weight brace I got about three years ago. Both of these braces are 'clunkers'. The hospital brace is solid and about 0.2 inches thick and the newer brace is the same but has holes cut in the back.Wearing this brace for the first time was an incredible relief and feeling of lightness. My gait changed and it was easy to forget I was wearing a brace as it is so much more comfortable. Even at rest, I am always conscious of the other braces. What I have noticed is a slight feeling of instability when wearing this brace so I have been alternating using this one and the hospital supplied brace throughout the day. I did go ahead and cut the foot to better fit my shoes as it seemed to be catching at the toe and putting some spring into the foot portion. After cutting to fit the spring feeling is gone. The straps are very comfortable - much more so than my other braces - but I would suggest also supplying a much lighter, less thick strap for the foot and the ankle. The padded strap for the top of the brace is most welcome! The straps do seem to flex while wearing the brace and the foot and ankle straps are, of course, more difficult to refasten as that requires removing a shoe/boot. I don't have ankle straps on my other braces and the ankle strap is a big improvement.Overall I am very pleased with this brace. I will continue to swap braces for the next few weeks until I feel completely stable with the new brace. I'll update this when I completely retire the other braces. I've rambled a bit here and hope I've given a clear picture, if not I will be happy to answer any questions.

uncomfortable
A 2 star rating may be a little harsh. I have a number of these types of braces and I don't like any of them but this is the best of them so far. Anytime you put something in a shoe that doesn't belong the shoe no longer is comfortable. Even removing the shoe's insole doesn't help much as you really need something to cushion your foot. Also I found the heel pinched and the the builtin arch support was to narrow and cut into my arch. It would have been better to just leave the insole of this brace flat. This brace appears to be made for a narrow foot. The foot strap is way too long and thick when using without a shoe and the plastic is very slippery. All this said I modified the brace, heated it up and reshaped the heel cut away the arch part and made some thin straps and non-skid bottoms and it works good now for around the house. But how many people could do this? It does have good foot lift and flex but there are better braces out there, I hope.
