So pleased with my purchase
Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. This is my all time favorite vine. Stopped growing it years ago when I had health problems so needed to buy seed when I was ready to try again. I got these seeds around noon on 25th of March, nicked the very edge with nail clippers where the edge is the thinnest, just to get thru the brown, soaked in warm water all day and planted at 10pm in damp seed starter mix (I put my soil in a bag and add water, blending until well moistened) in little cardboardy pots. Put the pots in my Jiffy starter tray with the clear lid, put the heat mat under it and on 28th of March I had my first sighting of a green stem poking up. Today, 30th of March I have 4 seedlings with leaves getting ready to open. I used the cardboardy pots so I wont disturb the roots when I put in the ground, these pots are made to break down in soil. A note from previously growing, those little disks that came in my seed tray that expand when wet never worked for me, holds too much moisture is my guess, but I always got them up to first set of leaves and the stem would rot at the soil line. Hope these details help someone who is new to this vine. I highly recommend the vine and the seller and I look forward to smelling this again in the Fall when it blooms. Good luck.

Bad Seeds
These seeds turned out to be Morning Glories and not Cardinal flowers (the leaves are different than the typical Cardinal flower) - wouldn’t recommend

100% germination
I barely nicked the tip of the seeds with a nail clipper then soaked them for 24 hours. I then planted them in Miracle Grow seed starter mix and put them in a clear plastic bag on a seed starter heating mat (any warm location would work just fine). This is the results after 2.5 weeks from planting! All 6 up and growing.

Takes too long to grow
So the seed work but i dont like this vine, its been probably 3 months since the plant has been growing and is like the size of a ruler , i have it in a nice trellis and she is attached but not growing fast at all i mean i dont even think is gonna bloom before winter get here :( so the seeds are good but the plant it self disappointed me.Update: it never bloomed

Tough to start, but worth the effort
I tried several methods, but got some success with pouring boiling water into a glass bowl and adding the seeds, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and soak overnight, and then plant. Two plants grew and one climbed up the fig tree in my greenhouse. It will overwinter there and we will see if it blooms next year (it didn't get planted until mid-July, so I didn't expect flowers this year). Another reviewer on another site said her plant bloomed the second year. The vine is hardy and pretty, hoping for flowers eventually! Stick with it--it's a tough plant to start and takes some patience.

GERMINARON!!!!!

Duds
I am a seasoned gardener and I only got 3 seeds to sprout out of the entire package. While it is common for some seeds to not sprout, it is not common for basically the entire package to be duds. The seed companies on Amazon are turning out to be quite fraudulent. This is the 4th package of seeds that I havebought from Amazon that haven't sprouted. Well, 2 have survived to seedlings. The price for these seeds are 3x more expensive than seeds should be, as well. So, I am calling BS! I will never order seeds from here again. Too expensive and doesn't sprout. Waste of time and money.

Beauty
I grew this in my backyard for the summer and it grew extremely fast. I noticed the color looked better in person than shown. Just keep watering and give it plenty of sunlight .
