This is a really good tool. It has a nice weight to it, and feels sturdy in your hand. The blade’s retractable, and it's solid enough to handles tough jobs. I've got two - one for each hand.

Good cutter for mineral felt for flat roofs

This is quite sturdy however the dial is not metal it is some sort of alloy and concerned it will give out quickly.The set comes with two strong blades inside the handle.You need to unscrew the dial completely at first, to get at the blades, so that you can put one in place - it has two small cut outs on the blade that line up with two small poles, then put it back together and tighten the dial.At first I could not get the dial to turn, it is very thin and is recessed so very difficult to get a good grip on it as it had been overtightened.In the end I used very thin pliers to get it going, and then it is ok.Apart from the dial I think this is a good Stanley knife.It comes with a tough plastic sheath that you can clip into a belt, I am only using it as a sheath as the blade is fixed and does not retract, which is what I wanted and it stays in the toolbox so no need to wear it.

This is a sturdy tool with a sturdy belt holder. It means I can have it on my belt, safely encased in hard plastic, and it's immediately available when I need it. It's quite long, so there's plenty to grip, and because the blade isn't retractable it doesn't disappear into the body of the knife when you press too hard or grip the knife in a certain way. Spare blades fit in the handle and the big screw means you can swap blades in the middle of a job without going looking for a screwdriver. An excellent tool.

everyone thinks of stanley as being top quality and this item does not fall short of that reputationthe knife is top quality. and even came with a few blades insidethe locking nut is easy so use between thumb and finger and stays tight at all times so there is no chance of it coming loose at allthe holster is hard plastic, bright and has a very good belt clip which you can also put onto your tool boxholding the knife is very easy, its big and easy to gripeven though its smooth and has no texture, your hand does not slip down the shaft at any point, neither in gloves or out of themthe only criticism i have is to do with the holster. unless you put the knife in and tap it down as if your pushing it too far it can come out when you bend overthis could be dangerous as the blade is permanently outbut its a great piece of kit

Have always bought these knives . Great item.

Poor quality.would not screw back together after fitting the blade. The screw thread was stripped and would not hold handle together . Unlike other Stanley products this one was a waste of money.
