Great if you need to batch scan a load of photos
I've been wanting to scan my old family photos for years but the thought of scanning each photo individually on a flat bed scanner meant I kept putting this off.I started looking around for better options and this seemed to be the best scanner to do the job. It wasn't cheap but it did make the whole job so much easier.I used this with a 2014 MacBook Pro and it was more than capable of doing the job. The Epson software was ok to use once you'd got used to a couple of its quirks. But once scanned and organised I imported the photos into iPhoto where I was able to catalogue and edit the photos. To be honest, the scanner did such a good job that very little editing was required. The Epson software automatically rotated the photos and named them with a naming convention that I had set. There was some cropping of old photos that had rough borders that I had to do manually but to be honest very little colour correction was needed. Obviously if I wanted to re-print the photos for any reason at a later date i'd do a little more touching up but overall I was extremely please with the results out of the box.Scans were rapid with each photo only taking a second or so at the lowest resolution (300dpi) or a couple of seconds at the higher (600dpi). Using the auto feeder I could load a batch of 30-40 photos and just hit the scan button and let it do it's thing. The only time I had issues with jamming was if I was trying to scan a passport sized photo without using the dedicated sheet for this so this was my own fault. However it was simple to unjam the machine and retrieve the stuck photo. At no point did any of my thousands of photos get damaged or warped. The size of this scanner is very small and compact and a lot more compact than a large flatbed scanner. The problem I have now is that I have a photo scanner and no more photos to scan. I could sell it or I can offer to scan photos for others as a side hustle. So this won't be for everyone due to the high cost but it did everything it promised on the tin so I can't fault it for that. Highly recommended.

Brilliant
This came with no instructions, but the drivers and software were easy to find online. They only pain was I could not register as Uk/England is not listed in the drop down options so it won't accept a UK address. You can however just skip this.Once set up this is amazingly quick and effective. And it can auto enhance your pictures as it goes. Perfect for scanning a the big archive of family photos.
