An average knife for smaller hands
Was a gift to my wife, because she can’t handle my bigger 8inch knife. It was great to see her smile when she opened the box.Quality seems good, steel is claimed to be German, no way to confirm it so lets believe.Blade Edge has a small notch near the handle - minus 1 star (if seller replaces the knife, I will give this a 5 star)Blade lost initial sharpness soon , but it could be due to newness as well. After few months it will get seasoned I am sure.(Edit) After an year of use.Its tough to sharpen, and looses sharpness in a day. Its mainly because of combination of two reasons:1- steel is harder (good, but its counter productive because..2- blade lacks the gradient/angle needed for a chef’s knife.Sharpening effort is high, sharpness result is low, and blade loses sharpness in 2 days max!!I know this because I researched before buying my knives. I have a larger cartini (cheap) chef knife from last 6 years and it still sharpens like a razor and retains sharpness more than a week on moderate use. I love it, wish cartini made smaller ones.########################PS: Respect your knife if you like your fingers. Keep it clean and follow the rules of safe handling. Eyes on the blade, always.
