Peugeot 200367 Mathus Two-Pronged Corkscrew, Basalte

I've used this for awhile now and find it to be the most solid of this style. Easy to use, with nice heft in the hand, and shopwing no wear after opening dozens of bottles. Just a great product, and it's well built and attractive enough to make an excellent gift.

It cost a bit more than others. The handle is comfortable to the fit. The blades are unequal in length, curved a bit outward and tapered! Inserts and twists with greater ease than any other cork pull I have ever used (many). It arrived is a handsome box (unexpected) that is suitable to gift wrap (an idea). I'm extremely pleased that I bought this.

I was able to open a1984 Caymus Special Selection easily with this. Yes there was a moment I thought I was doomed, but a simple search on how to use it and you’ll be fine. Cork intact. Worth the price when it works on such a bottle.

This has been my first foray into the world of the ah-so and after pushing the first cork into the bottle, I'm getting the hang of it. It definitely has a sturdy construction. I think met of my issues thus far have been on my side rather than the product side.

For years I've used a Rabbit corkscrew. And I love the Rabbit, but this device is even easier to use. Corks are removed more effortlessly and smoothly. It's great for longer corks and broken corks. Plus it's a bit unexpected, so it adds a nice flare when with friends. Cheaper models will probably do the same thing, but this one has a nice heft. I like it.
