A fine example of Laobanzhang, typical flavor, 16 years old in 2024, and it can continue to age for many more. Brewing suggestion: as in Oolong try 90c before you give it boiling water. Slightly astringent at 100c first brew, this tells me that it is minimally processed, wonderfully aged in a climate controlled environment. The tea cake smells delicious, the wet tea smells even better like a fresh Camellia Sinensis leaf, everything was done right. Tasting: bitter and sweet is well-balanced long sweet finish with just a hint of bitter, exactly what I would expect of a perfectly aging green tea.
