Batman: The Complete Animated Series (DC)

Worth getting
I am glad I bought this before it became too much of a collector's item and thusly started going for collector's prices. The set is fantastic. The quality is present throughout and the glossy book is a treat worth having if it came on its own.My only reservation is with the show itself when they changed the art style in the later season, which is a shame as the initial style is timeless and classic.

fantastic collection
This is the complete "Batman: The Animated Series" from the 1990's. It's presented in a deluxe outer-box, which when opened reveals both an exclusive booklet and the DVD cases. The booklet consists of 42 pages of glossy images, depicting the characters and world of this TV series. While there's very little written material in the booklet, it's nice to flick through. It also provides an episode guide. There are two cases of DVD's - with two seasons of the show in each. In total, there are 16 DVD's for the show itself (and an additional DVD of bonus material - exclusive to this box set). This is a fantastic collection! There are a total of 109 episodes - each about 22 minutes long. This show serves as the foundation of the wider DC animated universe. It was conceived by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, and significantly contributed to by Paul Dini. Batman is brilliantly voiced by Kevin Conroy; and the Joker by Mark Hamill. This show received its own original musical score - composed by Shirley Walker (inspired by Danny Elfman's music from the 1989 'Batman' film). This is a classic piece of TV animation. It was hugely influential, and contributed to how the Dark Knight has been subsequently interpreted. It's suitable for children, but can be thoroughly enjoyed by adults. While the DVD's are imported from the USA, they play on my region 2 machine. I looked around and bought this for £55 (brand new). It often sells for over £200 - so I do suggest that you try and find it at a more reasonable price.

Massively cheaper elsewhere.
This is a fantastic boxset of the ultimate animated Batman with a great art book. DVDs are region 1 (US) so a multi-region player is needed, plenty are these days including PS3.However, this is reliably available brand new from "a well known auction site" for a fraction of the cost, I paid £70.I would absolutely recommend this set but beware inflated prices.

Disappointment
Although it did arrive swift and there is nothing wrong with the product itself people should be made more aware of the region code not in tiny letters at the bottom you could day right across it WiLL NOT WORK IN EUROPE
