Love the size variation and durability!
The media could not be loaded. I used the large suitcase and the carry on suitcase for a recent week long trip with 2 people. I love how each suitcase comes with a separator between the sides that you can zip up as well as the “seatbelt” on the other side that I used to hold my clothes down. This video was taken after I used them so there are some dings on the large suitcase from having TSA handle it when flying. The suitcase weighed 48 pounds so I was nervous for the wheels to break off or the hard outer shell to crack like many other suitcases would and this one didn’t! The dings don’t bother me and you can barely see them. They might even be from me since I was throwing the suitcase around from it being so heavy! Even though it was as heavy as it was, the wheels glided so smoothly both on carpet and hard floor/concrete. This made my traveling very smooth as I didn’t have to leave anything behind from it being too heavy for myself to carry. I personally didn’t use the locks that it came with (one for each suitcase) but im glad that I have them for next time. I also just love the look of the suitcase. It’s nice and sleek and I feel like not a lot of people have this kind so it was easy to find in baggage claim. Lastly, I love how each suitcase fits nicely inside the other for easier storage. I live in a small apartment and this will fit nicely in my storage closet! Definitely recommend!

Great luggage for the price
I am very pleased with this set of luggage. This is the first time I have ever owned/ purchased hard shell case luggage. I was very pleased because I decided to get this set when I was about to go on a business trip. When I first got the luggage, it came packaged well, not like it really matters but I was just weary of busted up packaging horror stories you hear. It was well packed. When I pulled out all the luggage bags, it was all packed within each other. So all 3 bags can be stored within each other, which is a Great space saver. People seemed to complain that the luggage had a specific scent of plastic, and stated the luggage had to be left open to eliminate the odor by letting the bag breathe. The odor wasn't a bad thing, and it smelled more like new luggage. Our luggage set did not have an overpowering odor, and it was fine the way it came. When I had the chance to use the luggage for my trip, I was more than pleased with it. I held up nicely, and the actual shell was very sturdy. I have been used to having traditional soft shell luggage that gets really beat up and dirty. Ours was like every other case and story, after so many uses it lost pieces and wouldn't function correctly, which lead to wanting to try this new hard shell style baggage. This luggage came in purple, my particular set, because I wanted something I could easily identify from the luggage carousel when at the airport. The color was actually a very nice, pleasing color that made it very easy for me to identify. I was amazed on how well the luggage held up during the trip. I expected them to be all dinged up, scratched up, and possibly bent in, since this was the first time I ever owned hard shell luggage. It came off the carousel with no scratches, and the markings I thought were scratches, were just dust and dirt marks that I was able to wipe off. The luggage was textured, which I believe made it more durable and less prone for scratches. The luggage was able to carry everything that I needed, and for once no broken bottles of cream, or shampoo! It was nice that it can expand to let more items be placed in the bag when packed. It carries, holds, and has enough pockets to keep everything in it's place. The interior was very nice and has dividers to help everything stay in place as well.I would definitely recommend this to other people looking for hard shell luggage, for a really good price. I would definitely buy these again if I had too. They are well built, durability is really good on these bags. The only downside, which wasn't much, was the general complaint about the expanding handle having play when you try and push the bag in it's upright standing position, but it wasn't flimsy and held up nicely when pushing/ walking around with the luggage. The wheels can go over pretty much any surface. I rolled mine over asphalt, concrete, and carpet, and it rolled well with no problems or issues. That was my only issue... The handle, but a minor issue.I Really recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade and try hard shell luggage. Way worth the money!

Just buy it! Great luggage!
This is the best luggage! We bought a set in 2019 and just had to replace to damaged wheels - not due to the luggage quality. We just recently bought 2 more sets! Great product and great value!

Rockland vs Samsonite...Rockland wins!
I ordered this luggage set for my daughter's birthday. Consequently, my husband had given me a gorgeous & shiny wine-colored (medium sized) Samsonite suitcase for Christmas, so it has been great to compare the two bags against each other. My hubby paid $145 for my bag (and it was on sale). The Samsonite bag is slightly heavier at 9.5# (versus 8-ish for the Rockland in the M), has sturdy pullout handles and an interior zipper pocket that I prefer, but hands down the Rockland Melbourne set is a much better value for the money. My major issue with the samsonite, beyond price, is that the zippers are very hard to use. They are sturdy but continually get stuck, which is annoying. Interestingly, the very shiny finish of the Samsonite is also an issue because it shows any and all dust, etc, after just lying it on a clean rug to look at.We ordered the periwinkle blue cases for my daughter and they are beautiful! They have a matte color and the finish is slightly textured. I think they will look great after going through baggage. All zippers work well, wheels glide smoothly and although the telescoping handle doesn't seem quite as sturdy, it definitely seems adequate. The one downside that I personally find is that there are limited pockets to store those little things that you like to store in pockets. Each case is designed in the exact same way with a zippered nylon divider between the two sides and a narrow pocket at the hinge. It's really not that big, so I'm not sure what you would put there. For the price, it will be easy to add a cube or cosmetics bag to solve that problem.Of course, the luggage hasn't been used yet, but my daughter will be taking a trip to DC at the end of the month and will get to try it out then. Hopefully it holds up as well as the other reviewers say it does. The end result is that I'm returning the Samsonite case and purchasing a Rockland 3 piece set, for pretty much the same money. Now to decide what color to get...I might just need the same peri that my daughter has!
