They work as intended. I dropped one star because I have bought these before and had a couple of the latches break, but I did get a lot of use out of them before they broke.

I have been throwing batteries in my laptop bag for travel and then trying to find where they rolled off to. Found these affordable ($5.99 for 6) cases and was pleasantly surprised at both the quality and versatility.Once case, two sizes of batteries. You lay AA batteries in one direction and they fully occupy the tray-space inside the case. You lay AAA batteries in the other direction (not at the same time obviously) and they stay put, although they do rattle a bit as others have noted.The bonus is that these cases have a latch on both ends that allow you to connect them together. I imagine too much torque and that will cause a failure, so when in my bag they are separated, when on my desk/shelf they're connected (makes pulling them out easier).The cases are made of some type of strong plastic and seem sturdy. They latch closed and do not pop open in-transit. The cases are less than an inch wide, so they don't take up much space, but given they hold 4 batteries of a type at the same time, and since they come as a 6-pack, more than enough storage for my needs.

These help with my rechargeable batteries and will work well with regular batteries, too.

Hold AA and AAA very well happy with them

4 AA batteries fit fine. The same case for 4 AAA is a little loose but batteries stay seated when the box is closed. A little expensive for plastic boxes but still the cheapest I could find on Amazon. The boxes can lock together (side by side, not on top of each other), if that interests you.

It works, but it's not super secure. They rattle, loudly and annoyingly if stored in anything moving. They safely keep the batteries separated and if you are not moving with them it's fine, but if you have them in a kit like I do it's annoying rattling as I move anywhere with it.

From the initial photos I was not fully sure what I would be getting.Each compartment holds 4 batteries whether they be AA or AAA.The compartments can clip together to become a solid unit, so if where you store them say in a camera bag or something similar you can clip as many together in a chain.These are ideal. (I even wrote (Dead) on one of the units so I had a place to drop the batteries in need of a recharge and know without a doubt which compartments hold fully charged batteries.I am very happy with the purchase.

These battery storage cases are pretty cheap when you buy them on sale. When you have them in your hand it shows it's cheap. Made of harder plastic so I don't think they will handle mechanical impact that well if that's an issue when you're carrying them. But when they are protected they will do the job. They're not waterproof is you're looking for that and the lock of the case is not made to last. So if you're opening or closing them a lot better look for something else.To me the above is not really an issue and for the price they are perfect for me.
