Great DIY repair of tiny desktop micro-fridge!
Bought a tiny micro fridge for my cubicle at work. Picked it up from a local large retailer, but when I set it up, was DOA. As I was too lazy and didn't want to deal with the local wall-Martians, and I happened to have my solder iron in my desk drawer, I disassembled and cross referenced the only part in the backside of the fridge. Besides the fan (which worked fine, providing evidence of good power source) the peltier module was the only other part on the business side of the power supply. So without even testing anything, I was confident the bad part was my module. I ordered the part, and and at the speed of Prime, I was back in business. Had the thing up and producing a nice frost layer in minutes. Also, while spec'd at the same ratings as the replaced module, this one actually had about 30% more surface area. I'm no physicist, but I'm pretty sure that accounts for a more efficient transfer of heat. Assuming there are no space restrictions, which in my case, there were none. It was actually a perfect match for the stock conductive plates, so win-win!I did however, wish that I had some thermo conductive paste handy. Perhaps most who would tackle such a project would already have some, but alas, I was fresh out. Recommend buying some with this line of products, unless you have some already handy. I was a baad technician.

Works great on a home made thermoelectric fan build
The media could not be loaded. My stove top reaches about 500 degrees F and as long as i use a good heat sync below the unit and don’t place the heat sync directly on the top of the stove as pictured in the video, this peltier works like a charm charging my fan and blows good heat wherever i point it. By placing it on top of a steel ceiling fan box i am able to keep target max temp for this unit within tolerances.
