Melted, but fine at the end of the trip
I am hoping this happened due to a hot day and that my package was supposedly out all day in a truck. When opened ( no pop of a seal, or safety wrap) item did not smell rancid but surely looked nasty- wet looking large pink clumps. Product photo alleges a "dry" looking product, but the nature of the item is blossoms soaked in vinegar and salted. Will re -evaluate and give proper stars after testing product because Amazon demands stars before posting.Update: product tastes fine cooks like recipe calls for, the look of the product after soaking was fine. Scent of cherry blossom is lovely. Will order again, maybe in cooler months now knowing what to expect.

First time Cherry Blossomer
I love the beauty of cherry blossoms, but I never thought they were actually edible. I found some recipes I wanted to try and looked up salted cherry blossoms, and this was the least expensive ones. I don’t know how real Japanese sakura taste like, but I didn’t want to spend the money on those yet. I learned this manufacturer is state-side, so I ordered this one to try. From what I understand, it’s pickled in plum vinegar, and I like pickled plums, so they ended up tasting very similar. I used them to make madeleines, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. It was a good balance of sweet and sour in a mini cake. I also made tea with the blossoms, but it was not my cup of tea. Basically hot salty sour water. It probably would be best to add it to orange or grapefruit juice or flavored sparkling water, which actually sounds pretty good. There was surprisingly quite a lot in the bag it came in. The blooms are quite tiny, like about half an inch, even when rehydrated, so don’t expect anything large. I only ended up using about 1/3 of it, so I plan to make more madeleines.

great flavor
This is unlike any other flower tea that I've tasted. It has a very nice and lovely flavor. It also has a strong flower scent. The salt really adds a nice touch.

Pricy
It is pricy and the flower seem not in good shape to bloom in warm water fully and beautifully like you may see in some Japanese cooking show. Anyway, the taste is not to salty as I thought, I still can make a nice cake even flowers were all in bud shape

Lovely spring addition.
Lovely addition to gin drinks, salty like olives but with a floral, slightly peppery flavor.
