Not for the Beginner
I am writing this review since there are a lot of requests for review.I have a LG LFXS29626S French door lower freezer cabinet with upper door and freezer ice maker. Great machine. I do love it.Downside:- Compressor died 5 years to the day of purchase. Compressor warranty is only 5 years.....what are the odds.- Threw a few parts at it during troubleshooting in a process of elimination.-One of those parts was the motherboard. (Not the issue.) Compressor was internally shot. It started and ran normally, no real strain on the power draw. Piston was moving, but rings/ seals gave way and wasn't compressing refrigerant.- LG honored warranty and repaired compressor via third-party repair technician. While the repairman was here he re-flashed the Firmware on the NEW Motherboard. Which they require for your specific manufacturer. This motherboard is made by Panasonic and is used in a number of different refrigerators. The board had slightly different dimensions and some newer circuit components, however the hole pattern matches. The Biggest issue was that the POWER CONNECTION has a slightly different keying configuration than the plug on the fridge. The power/ grounds in's and out's matched even though the connector keying is different. Not for the beginner or faint of heart. Good luck.
